I'm down a rabbit hole and you're all coming with me
Here is a table from this Ofgem document that shows more detail on the number of households using what amount of gas and electricity (and for electricity, on single- or dual-rate meters):
The "current" column is the old data, the "revised" is from 2019.
    So, for example:
    • 5% of customers with a gas connection use 3000kWh/yr or less;
    • 5% of E7 customers use 14000kWh/yr or more.
It's been mentioned before that the majority of E7 customers are small properties (flats, maisonettes) and this is why a "low" dual-fuel customer is using (8000+1800) 9800kWh of energy a year while a "high" E7 customer is only using 7100kWh/yr.

    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.
Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.

    Wow, didn't realise I was a hardcore E7 95th percentile user, using approx 20,000kWh annually :(

We spend £35 per month on dual fuel
We live in a 3 bed semi with full GCH and use it when it gets cold - we don't leave it running 24/7
Both of us shower daily and we use the washing machine 4 or 5 times a week
    We don't have a dishwasher
We use  3 units of electricity and 5 of gas per day on average

You seriously need to write a book on how you achieve this, you could have the answer to the worlds energy problems at your fingertips.

We don't run things unnecessarily - we have a fridge freezer and internet router - they stay "live" 24/7 but don't use much juice
We have low energy bulbs everywhere
Our main saving is that our house is double glazed and has a thick loft insulation - so we only use CH "manually" controlled - perhaps 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening

    That'll be a steady drain.

I'd certainly suggest turning that off for a day and seeing how much difference it makes

Depending on brand and technology used, the constant power drain may be as little as 10W...
  • There are 2 of us in a mid-terrace (3 beds) and our annual electricity usage is about 5750 kWh (we have gas as well).  Easy to run up!
  • We use 75KWh electricity per month on average for a 3 bed semi - that's around 1/4 of your consumption!

You are, it seems, particularly unusual in your usage.

There will also be customers who use neither electricity nor gas for much heating and so not all their energy use will appear in these data - oil, coal, wood...

Maybe just possible by going to bed at 8pm and without the washing machine usage. I recon it must be connected to next door's supply!
