Recently deceased keeper - bit of fun or am I going too far?

Hello all
I unfortunately lost my father very recently who was always a bit of a joker and hated parking parasites as much as the next man.
I have used this forum and the newbies thread to successfully wipe three tickets off at the POPLA stage without too much fuss over the past 10 years or so for different people (including one for my dad).
When we got back to his house on the day of his recent funeral we were greeted by a very nice parking invoice. The dreadful offence was actually caught 10 days after his death! Obviously he wasn't driving at the time but as the Motability car was used by several people over this difficult period we are not sure who may have been, although even if I knew I wouldn't say as per the 'rules'.
I would normally do the same as I have in the past but this company is part of the IPC and not the BPA so a full appeal will probably be completely pointless. I am now at the stage where I have just copied the usual template unedited and appealed using the online facility on the companies website to advise the keeper was not the driver and not advising who was.
I am now waiting the 14 days for the rejection and invitation to the kangaroo court. A little thought crept in my head to play with them a little bit to maybe try to stop future debt collection letters that may upset my mum. I maybe going too far and it could be the recent grief but when I get the rejection email I am thinking of just replying with the following:
"Thanks for your recent reply regarding my parking offence. Unfortunately I am dead.
I died ten days before the offence so I believe I was not the driver.
My death certificate is attached showing the date of my death.
As per the rejected appeal made in my name I do not know who the driver was on the day.
I would be grateful if you would cancel this ticket without a full IPC appeal which will ultimately fail as I won't be able to attend any court proceedings.
Love and kisses
The late, great <Name>

Enc. one death certificate"
It may be a bit too much to start an official appeal to the IPC without further evidence but maybe just a nice quick reply?
I don't know if it will make any difference but the car is still in his name after using the 'tell us once' service and we are waiting on Motability to contact us to arrange collection of the car.
Thanks for reading and taking this as the bit of fun intended, not to upset anybody.

Should the car have even be on the road after your father’s death?1

I believe so as per https://www.motability.co.uk/contact/notification-of-a-customer-passing-away/Keep_pedalling said:Should the car have even be on the road after your father’s death?
"If you are using the Government's 'Tell Us Once' service to notify organisations such as the DWP and DVLA, you must let us know first so that we can ensure named drivers can continue using the vehicle until it is returned."
I didn't personally do this, but I believe contact was made to Motability.

Please dont call this an offence, as it is not."I am writing to you on behalf of the registered keeper of vehicle xxxxxx, which received a parking charge notice ref xxxxThe vehicle in question was used by multiple people, and the registered keeper will be the only person who will know who the driver was/could have been on that day.The registered keeper now resides at ( name of cemetery/location of plot) and should you wish to contact him then you may need to use a psycic/medium and /or the use of a Ouija board as they are no longer part of this realmi trust i have your understanding on this ,m as my own abilities to contact the deceased are somewhat lacking, lots of love all the best ...."From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"9 -
To be honest I meant to put 'offence' in quotesHalf_way said:Please dont call this an offence, as it is not."I am writing to you on behalf of the registered keeper of vehicle xxxxxx, which received a parking charge notice ref xxxxThe vehicle in question was used by multiple people, and the registered keeper will be the only person who will know who the driver was/could have been on that day.The registered keeper now resides at ( name of cemetery/location of plot) and should you wish to contact him then you may need to use a psycic/medium and /or the use of a Ouija board as they are no longer part of this realmi trust i have your understanding on this ,m as my own abilities to contact the deceased are somewhat lacking, lots of love all the best ...."
I do like your letter as well, it's nice to know I am thinking clearly and possibly on the right track!2 -
At a guess they may well shove this over to Motability who will deduct the fee.Multiple users of a Motability vehicle ?? all allowed usually not all insured usually not1

I didn't even think about your first point regarding this could be passed onto Motability as they weren't the registered keeper at the time. Maybe something to think about?JJ_Egan said:At a guess they may well shove this over to Motability who will deduct the fee.Multiple users of a Motability vehicle ?? all allowed usually not all insured usually not
I am not quite sure about you second point but you can have 3 named drivers according to this link:

I thought all journeys by a motability car had to be for the benefit of the disabled person?1

That part is very interesting and I am glad it has been mentioned.knightstyle said:I thought all journeys by a motability car had to be for the benefit of the disabled person?
The Motability site has information on this at:
https://www.motability.co.uk/about/how-the-scheme-works/how-your-vehicle-can-be-used/
It states:
"The car is used by, or for the benefit of, the disabled person. This does not mean that the disabled person needs to be in the car for every journey. In practice, this means other named drivers in the household can use the car for shopping and other routine activities, as long as the disabled customer will benefit. "
As mentioned previously on https://www.motability.co.uk/contact/notification-of-a-customer-passing-away/ this states:
"If you are using the Government's 'Tell Us Once' service to notify organisations such as the DWP and DVLA, you must let us know first so that we can ensure named drivers can continue using the vehicle until it is returned."
I suppose this can be read in different ways but it seems the scheme is setup for the car to be continued to be used after the person passes. Although this could be in conflict with ''The car is used by, or for the benefit of, the disabled person" as they are no longer with us to benefit directly.
The car was used to help my mum shopping and all the trips to funeral directors etc. The car was only used to 'benefit' the deceased by proxy.2 -
Yes, but he has died and the family have told Motability and the OP already quoted this:
https://www.motability.co.uk/contact/notification-of-a-customer-passing-away/
"If you are using the Government's 'Tell Us Once' service to notify organisations such as the DWP and DVLA, you must let us know first so that we can ensure named drivers can continue using the vehicle until it is returned."
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
