I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

The alternative is for both of us take a half day to get her out of the house, into the car, drive to the site, out of the car, into the place, jab and return. So while she is now 2 weeks beyond the 6 month mark we have no idea when she might get her booster. Apparently home visits are not even being planned yet. The best the surgery could guess at is "sometime in the next couple of months".
Now some might say (as they have said to me by the surgery) that there's little to worry about as MiL is homebound so isn't at risk. That might be true but she does have a carer who calls weekly who is out and about and making the rounds to who knows where the rest of the week. There's also me going into the office (hot house of germs) and OH who's also out and about to Tescos etc. So not so little risk of us picking something up that we might spread to her.
If they are busy getting on with the job then why ring the GP?
This is exactly what they want people to NOT do.
Unless of course there is actually a specific reason to think she's been left out i.e. rest of the street has been done except her.
Unfortunately those waiting for district nurses are behind (timewise) those who can get to a vaccination center.
I have the same issue.
It's just a resource I think.
We do lateral flows and wear masks inside apart from when we're actually eating and drinking.3 -

So far none of friends and relatives have had or been phoned etc one received letter to phone and given appt 2 weeks time - it will make it 6mth and 3 weeks.
Seems the number to phone when you get your letter is so busy one waited 45 mins for appt 2weeks ahead.
NHS England seems to be pushing forward.....wonder if a 40 min drive into England would make it easier to get booster
My first two vaccine were done by the GP. I am told the third will be at mass vaccination centres only and assume this is why there is a delay i.e. capacity is reduced on what it was.
I'm in the South West, so not close to you. Here NHS staff are still being vaccinated which makes me think we are not yet onto the vulnerable groups.0 -
I spent two hours pressing F5 and going round in circles, eventually managed to book for yesterday. The slots come and go randomly.0

Many pharmacies are offering boosters at the moment. Offer it by appointments. Saves you a lot of time - no queue.0

I had my booster at a walk-in centre. The queue outside was about an hour: while we were waiting stewards came around and checked eligibility (mainly by asking people when they had received the second dose). Once inside I gave my name and address and they pulled up my medical records on their computer, verified the date of my second dose and only then gave me the booster.
Some people joined the queue who had obvious difficulty standing: the stewards quickly invited them to enter the building (I don't know if they were given a seat there or taken to the front of the queue).
