I don’t know about entrants, but I have noticed in passing from the daily Ofgem bulletins that there have certainly been applicants, which amazes me.1

I think Logicor entered (re-entered?) the market briefly in July/August this year.Deleted_User said:...That leaves 31. Unless there have been any new entrants since June 30?

There have been some new entrants. Also, I can't see Green Energy UK - company number 4194006 - on that list?

Energy consultancy Cornwall Insights said today that the number of domestic suppliers in the UK had shrunk from 47 at the start of the year to just 25 today, meaning almost one in every two suppliers has disappeared. All but one have gone bust. From the Evening Standard. No list given, though.0

OP has included a lot of suppliers which aren't active within the energy market and some non-domestic only.
There's a lot of 'supplier in the box' companies who have domestic supply license with the intention to sell off to people wanting an energy company
Cilleni Energy is Rebel Energy, who haven't launched yet
Coulomb isn't active
Delta Gas & Power is non-domestic
Donnington is linked to drax/opus - non-domestic or not trading
Energise Britain isn't active
Farmoth is linked to drax/opus - non-domestic or not trading
Farringdon Energy is "Champion Energy" - non-domestic
Flow Energy - closed in 2019, Unlikely Octopus has it as a white label.
Labrador - I don't even know what this is... but isn't a supplier
Paddington isn't active
Pirranello is linked to drax/opus - non-domestic or not trading
Sinq Power is Non-Domestic
Simply Your Energy is Entice Energy - on there twice
Toucan isn't offering domestic tariffs.
Npower are no longer active, customers migrated to E.On Next
Utility Warehouse is on there twice (Electricity Plus Supply)
That therefore removes 15 putting the number down to 27
Affect, Bristol and Co-op, are all 'white label' suppliers and don't trade under their own supply license anymore. So removing them would get you to the 24 quoted by Cornwall Insight.
Although OP has also missed off Green Energy UK (not the same as Green.Energy) - which makes 25

Based on industry data, would had been late July as their customer numbers started rising then. Currently on ~2k custs.booshya said:

Plus... all of their trustpilot reviews look fake, so I don't know if I'd count them as a legit supplier.1 -
I would argue that, if you can't join a supplier (ignoring current market conditions), then they arent' an active supplier.
But E.on still exist and continue to supply many existing customers not transferred, so I would say they are still 'left' as of yesterday.
Even if the energy crisis didnt' occur, E.on wouldnt' be taking on new customers and they'd all be going onto E.ON Next instead.0 -
I'm not sure what they were either, but they entered administration and then liquidation back in 2019, so I agree they should not be on the listUnclaimedEnergy said:

Not quite.UnclaimedEnergy said:

They are 2 separate legal entities with their own separate supply licences.
But Simply Your Energy is wholly owned by Entice Energy.
Not sure what Simply Your Energy currently do, I think they support Entice Energy in some way, but Simply Your Energy are not active as a domestic supplier.
So it depends on what this list was intended to indicate.
Neo Energy, or whoever their supply partner may be at this time, is also missing. So does that increase the number to 26?UnclaimedEnergy said:

Didn’t Labrador used to be some sort of switching service?0

Ofgem still seem to be publishing a massively out of date list of suppliers today. Scroll down past generators and distributors, unless you want them. At least it has all the relevant company numbers.
https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/energy-policy-and-regulation/industry-licensing/lists-licensed-companies
I can only think that many of them are only ‘open’ licensees in the sense that no-one has ever submitted the paperwork to officially close them. Surely time for a tidy up of the database by Ofgem.0
