You might have missed a few. Here at page 10 is Ofgem’s list of domestic electricity suppliers. I suspect a number are dormant. There will be a similar list for gas.

Yeah after I posted it I thought where’s shell? So copied off the often site - much bigger set there!

I’ll go back through the list in the morning and remove the non domestic ones

May I ask for where you took this list from / source of information you constructed this list from?

What do you think is the intended purpose of this list?

Lots of suppliers I've never heard of, and and a couple of major suppliers seems to have vanished without trace.

e.g. What has happened to SSE (Scottish & Southern Energy) and their 3.5million domestic customers???

Anyone know what happened to E.on???

I've never heard of Farmoor Energy Limited before. Can't seem to find their website.
Looking at their company accounts, it seems they have not traded for years, have no intention to re-enter the market, and even when may have done traded in the past, they claim they only supplied commercial customers.

That part of SSE was sold to OVO and E.on customers were/are being transferred to E.on Next

1.  Off the ofgem website list of gas and electric suppliers

2. Just to keep a note of how few there will be left at the end of this winter.

I may have missed a couple of them that are no longer trading, there were quite a few to begin with, as the ofggem page lists all those with licences, not necessarily trading, and also farmoor may be a commercial supplier nota domestic.

That part of SSE was sold to OVO ...

But Bristol Energy is still listed and that was sold to Together Energy

But E.on still exist and continue to supply many existing customers not transferred, so I would say they are still 'left' as of yesterday.

I'm sure Flow Energy have long gone.

It seems Flow Energy was sold to the Co-op back in 2018.
In 2019 , the Co-op "entered into a strategic partnership with Octopus Energy". Consequently, it was confirmed in the accounts of Flow Energy for the period ending 25 January 2020, that Flow Energy had ceased to trade.

Never heard of Energise Britain Gas & Electric Ltd before. According to their last accounts, they were/are a dormant company and I can't see any evidence that has changed since (such as a website of theirs)


I think the prediction was that there would only be about 10 suppliers left by the end of the year. (that was assuming none are nationalised or whatever other term the government want to dress it up as, as and when it occurs)
