When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Evening allAnyway, I am here for now! I had a third covid vaccine dose on Saturday and it knocked me out till late afternoon today, so very limited accomplishments today! But I did:Sit wrapped in a blanket with a hot water bottle and sorted out my small business accounts. I did of course have records of receipts, spends etc but not all in the right place. All organised and up to date now. Something useful done, that I have been putting off!RM surveys stuffMake a shepherds pie for dinner, with OH's help (how pathetic does that sound
)
Made a loaf in the BM as I certainly didn't feel up to going shopping. I would do this all the time, but OH prefers a particular type / brand of bread, and he eats far more of the stuff than I do.(Almost) sorted some bank stuff. A bit long winded this one. I know that banks have to be careful with security, but it does make it hard sometimes to access / move your own money! Still a work in progress I think.3 -

Hello all,
This week I am planning on:- Baking brownies rather than buying any snacks,
- Keeping the heating off,
- Doing the dishes only once a day
- Only having one bath and the rest of the days either a shower or a sink wash (trust me, the way I refill baths this is money saving!)
- Trying to sell a few clothing bit on FB marketplace
- Returning all my library books bar one.
- Sticking to a meal plan - all I should need is milk
- Make bread in BM
- Scan my receipts into the apps
- Stay on top of the laundry
- Gone through planned spends for the next two months and cut them back to the bone
- Made soup
- Done my daily dishes
- Had a sink wash rather than a shower as my hair didn't need washed
Live the good life where you have been planted.

Hello @EssexHebridean of course you can join in!Got over feeling rotten after my third jab, thank goodness, so today I have:Finished the bank stuff that was taking ages yesterdayDog walk. Not raining, but he doesn't like the wind much either, especially in the autumn due to the leaves it blows at him. Getting a leaf on one's fur is the worst!Load of washing, mostly dry outside in the wind. I will put it on the airer to finish off.No heating on as it is mildPicked a small bowlful of raspberries and some beetrootMade a fruit pie (used elderly apples from the fruit bowl, plus a few home grown pears and quinces - I have a fridge full of pears and a meat safe full of quinces, and have already given 2 bagsful away), a mince and onion pie using some mince left over from yesterday, and a quiche to use up the last bits of pastry. Food for a few days there, though I am doing fish with ratatouille for tonightCleaned the bathroom and sorted the larder out a bit.Started a shopping list, though there won't be much on it! I will buy a cheap bottle of gin though, as one of the people I gave quinces to, gave me a recipe that she had written out for quince gin. I really fancy trying that! I shan't make jelly this year, as I have quite a lot left from last.Does anyone know anything about Shell Energy? I haven't heard good things, and we have been dumped with them due to out provider (Pure Planet) going under. Can't swap yet, but will probably be doing so.2

I can vouch for quince vodka being absolutely stunning Dawn - we made some a few years ago and it makes the most beautiful pale pink drink - glorious with ice and a splash of tonic on a hot day - although I don't think there are too many of those to come any time soon!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
