Leaving a safe modest salary to do the same thing but in control and on my own.
Spotting a gap in the market.
Being useful, available and making good friends with decision makers.
Doing something well and not being afraid to charge a premium for it.

Starting to track my monthly income/spending, net saving, and wealth in Excel and then Google Sheets. I actually look forward to the start/end of each month to see where I'm upto.
I used to keep budgets but I find I'm not a big spender anyway. If I notice overspend one month it's on my mind the whole of the next.
Deciding I wanted a career instead of just a job.

Best two situations was I found some odd Greek football correct score’s at 2 to lay, but only made £500 from that and a 25/1 that came in on a really crap bookie that I significantly underpaid to de risk if it came in.
It’s probably a good thing the board here closed. It was getting too popular and offers dried up.
Favourite bookie has to be 365 with its 4/1 offers.1 -
