I have waited in all day in vain for a delivery. I now discover that the parcel was delivered (left at the door) this evening at 8.28 pm. There is a photograph showing the package lying on the door mat. Not good enough. There was no knock on the door and the bell, which is quite loud was not rung. We couldn't have missed it if the driver had rung, as they normally do.Whom do I contact?

    Hi,

If amazon send you an email when they have delivered your parcel (they always send me one immediately) you could start by responding to that negatively. It should say something like 'your parcel has been delivered' and then 'how was your delivery?' with a thumbs up and a thumbs down picture - click on the thumbs down and then you should be able to tell them what happened and what you think about it.

I've not usually had any trouble with deliveries so I do usually click on the thumbs up icon but I do understand that not everyone has the same experience.

Truth be told I feel sorry for the delivery drivers, they're poorly paid, they earn peanuts, they work long hours and they work until late. Sometimes it's the only job they've been able to get. I have to admit that we don't always hear them knock and sometimes they don't knock but we do get our parcels whatever.

I don't know if drivers lose their jobs when people complain about them. I just wouldn't be able to. But that's just me. And that's reminded me, I have two amazon emails to respond to, hopefully some positive feedback can cancel out the negative. Fingers crossed.

The driver will definitely have knocked if the parcel is on your doormat. Why wouldn’t they? You’ve just not heard them and they don’t wait.

I've had a few Amazon deliveries where the driver (it's been the same one every time) has simply left the package on my door mat, taken a photo and not rung the bell or knocked.
The first couple of times this happened I contacted Amazon customer services to ask if they wanted the Ring doorbell recording of this happening but they weren't interested.

If you’ve got a ring doorbell they may not bother knocking as that should alert you to the parcel anyway.

By the time you get to the door they're usually back in the van and on to their next drop, the pressure they are put under for deliveries is intense.

I get a lot of Amazon parcels and tbh the deliveries have gone way downhill from a few years ago.

I now get any that meet the dimensions delivered to an Amazon locker which is only a few minutes from me.

I did this because of the same complaints I see here.

Items left on the doorstep even in the pouring rain with no chap or ring of the bell to let me know its there.

I often have to go looking for them. Admittedly they do get delivered, just I dont get told until I see an email.

But you do get a email saying parcel delivered 👍

I have a Ring doorbell and find the opposite with most deliveries, not confined to Amazon, they tap, don't knock, on the door dump and run. Totally ignore the bell staring them in the face!
I think it's become worse since the lurgi when signatures and any contact were stopped.
In fact, my Postie has just tapped on the front door, dumped and done a runner. I'll recive the Ring notification in 10 minutes or more - don't get me started on Ring!
