House purchase - Scotland

TazTia said:Our offer was verbally accepted on 28/09/21 on a house in Scotland. The Paralegal advised the seller was separating, assuming the process will be longer than normal as there will be two solicitors involved as well as ours. I asked a week later 05/10/21 how we were doing on the sale and I was told they were waiting on the Deeds and the official letter of acceptance of our offer. This is now 15/10/21 and still no further forward. Come Tuesday it will be 3 weeks and still no further forward from being told verbally on the closing date our offer was accepted. We are cash buyers so was expecting our sale to go through relatively quickly. I emailed the paralegal this morning but never got a reply. We have never purchased in Scotland before. Is this normal to still be waiting on written acceptance 3 weeks later ? Advice appreciated
Well we got our callback from our solicitors, many hours later... TRANSPIRES THERE IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST (It's only taken 3 weeks to inform us)!!!!!! We contacted them - god only knows when they were actually going to inform us...
So we are now back at the beginning!!!! My bad feeling turned out to be correct!
They have instructed another company to take over and sent them a copy of our written offer. Why oh why has it taken 3 weeks to find this out??????? Just waiting on a call from them. Not sure if it will be today or not!!!!! and we still have no written acceptance!!!
Stressed to the limits now

After speaking to this new solicitor, he sounds like he knows his job, so we are confident we can continue and be updated as and when he knows more.
Our stress levels have come way down now so all is well1 -
