Has anybody set up any charity direct debits? Interested in any charities that accept £1 or £2 monthly payments? Thanks.

Most charities ie. Marie Curie, Oxfam, Macmillan etc accept a minimum £2 monthly direct debit (I have all three on a long term basis).
I don't personally know of any that accept a £1 monthly direct debit but other forum members may know of some.2 -

I believe that becoming a £2 per month donor to a charity will set you up for an avalanche of "supporter" correspondence, much of which will be focused on getting to increase your measly donation. Just a thought.1

Pretty much any regular donation, however small or large, will result in a bombardment of e-mails band/or post asking you to give more. Once a charity has your contact details, that's it. They're always after more. Oh. and the same is true of political donations.

'Heartbeat' is a Preston, Lancs based charity providing rehabilitation, exercise and education for people post heart attack, cardiac surgery etc.
Lottery - Heartbeat (heartbeat-nwcc.org.uk)
Although they advertise a lottery (IIRC £1k pm + several smaller prizes) which you can contribute £1 pw quarterly, they will accept £1 per month by direct debit for one draw a month. So you get your DD... contribute to a worthy cause AND get a chance to win!
Download the application form and annotate it accordingly to be clear you only want £1 pm.
The administrator there assures me not only is that acceptable, it'd be very welcome. If you want more than one DD (for different acs) she's happy about that too, but requires a form for each account, annotated accordingly.
