I haven't heard anything since the WB site operator replied to my email and said he'd cancel it.I checked the Parking Eye website and my Ref Number still locates to an outstanding charge (now £100).Should I contact the site operator again and ask him for evidence it's been cancelled? Or just forget about it? Obviously PE have no email or phone number (apart from paying).

Is it possible the sender has cancelled it but PE still leave the charge on their website for some time?

No, we've always seen the PE website update the next week. Have you put in an appeal telling PE that WB has agreed to cancel it, I would have done that already, to get a foot in the door.
But follow up the WB email now too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Okay I've emailed the site operations manager and also submitted an appeal on PE which just says the site operations manager informed me he would cancel the charge. Will post again when I receive an update.

The site operations manager at WB replied promptly the other day and said he'd chase it up. He also said that PE often take over a week to cancel. After a couple of days, it now finally says 'status: cancelled' on PE (a total of 9 days after the site manager allegedly communicated the cancellation to them).Once again, many thanks to everyone on here. The bar stewards didn't win this time.4

Yay you won! Nicely done.
Please post about this and tell everyone who you beat and how, and also who to contact at WB, in 'SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCs' (the first link in the NEWBIES thread).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A two hour free period in MSAs is totally absurd imo. MSA are intended to provide a place for a motorist to rest and not have to pay £10- £15 for forty winks. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
