    Morning everybody

Well another couple of sales yesterday so after fees and postage I have paid the rest off c/c.

Total paid this month is now standing at £896.00
    Total outstanding is now £20904.00

It is coming down and let it continue.

    Plans over the weekend:

Do a meal plan for next week using as much as I can out of the cupboards and freezer.  Then go shopping.
Sort more items out and list them on ebay
Spend a few hours looking at new products to make and sell within my own business, so when the ebay sales dry up hopefully this will start.

Somebody mentioned to me about doing a couple of hours on *mazon flex so I am going to look into that as well.  I can honestly say I know nothing about it at all, so it is worth looking into.

My closest friend is taking me out for food tonight as we always go when it is one of our birthdays.  With all the lockdowns and she was quite frightened we never went when it was my birthday so that is today.  I am really looking forward to it.

EssexHebridean and savingholmes  thank you so much for your support, I really do appreciate it.

Take care everybody and have a great day.

  • Morning Everybody,

Woke up this morning to a couple of sales on ebay so going to package them up and take them to the couriers this morning.  So after fees and postage another £50 paid of the c/c.  I am made up with the way this is going.

Also had an email from ebay to say 80% off ebay fees so I have decided I am going to have a listing weekend and list as much as possible.  If it sells it will be more profit to pay off the c/c so a win win situation.

I had a lovely meal with my friend last night and we had such a good laugh which was great.  Much needed I think.

So food today is all out the cupboards and freezer,  I think by Monday I will be able to turn one of the freezers off and defrost it.  I am going to start batch cooking when I turn it back on and use the second freezer to freeze meals.  This will stop food going to waste and also will give me more time as well.

Hope everybody has a great weekend.  I just hope my fingers are sore by the end of the weekend with listing all of this stuff.

    Take care

Great news on ebay fees reduction - and the sales.

Batch cooking always a good plan too. We have a second freezer - I think I need to follow your lead and run it down defrost and clean it out before refilling with batch cooked food. So that's the plan for about a month's time by which point Ex should have gone...

Sounds like you are doing very well with the debt reduction and meal planning etc.  Batch cooking is a great idea and hopefully you will have a good weekend with the ebay listings. Soon be under the £20k

  • Morning everybody,

Got up this morning to another couple of sales on ebay, so yet again I have profit amount after fees and postage to c/c.  I have worked out I have not paid £955 off the debt during October which I am so pleased with.  So enthusiasticsaver hopefully I will soon be under the 20K mark and I cannot wait.

I am finding it all quite exciting and a challenge if I am honest and feel like if I can do this and get the debt to 0 I can achieve anything.  I hope that makes sense.

So today, more listing on ebay all afternoon to see if I can shift more of the stuff that has been lurking in the loft for years.

savingholmes  -  This week I have decided I am going to cook each night but make treble the amount and put two portions in the freezer.  Then do that again the following week, then in theory we would have dinner for the next month all cooked and ready to go.  Not sure if this is going to work but I am going to give it a go.   Are you staying in your house when your Ex moves out?  Or are you moving to another place?  I really do hope to works out well for you and you end up really happy.  It was the best thing I have ever done and I am really happy and chilled now.

Take care everybody and have a great Sunday.

Well done on clearing so much debt and clutter from the loft too.

Batch cooking can really cheer you up later when you come to eat on those days when everything felt too much. It also rescues you from the temptation of eating out - as you know you have nicer food pre-cooked.

I'm staying in my house and buying Ex out. I'm hoping things will be sorted in the next few weeks. It's nice to hear others are happier post divorce as it's a huge decision and in RL I've had pressure to change my mind,

From my experience , this time were you are both still living in the same house is the horrible part, or that is what I found.  Once things move on you will become more settled in your new life.  I love it and just wished I had done it sooner than I did.  I really do hope things go well for you.

So on the debt front I have paid an extra £45 off the c/c today which was from a couple of sales on ebay.  I listed another five things last night as I am trying to keep up with one listing a day, so I am ahead of the game this week.  I am really happy the way the sales are going on ebay at the moment.  Last month I was able to pay of £955 in total of the c/c, I would love to be able to do that again.  So the target is set, lets hope I achieve it again.    One of the c/c is on a 0% rate until 1.1.22.  It has a balance of £2355.  Every extra amount I am paying is going off that.  I am really going to dig deep in November and December and try my hardest to pay as much off this card as I can.  I dont really want to move it and incur the transfer fee if I can help it.  So the challenge is to pay off as much as possible from this card between now and the 1st January.

I still have all those rings, so am thinking I may take them into a shop to start of with to get some feedback on them.  Once I know a little bit more information I could have a look around for a higher price.  Has anybody ever sold gold rings on ebay?  Would love to know your experience, as I have never done it before.  This may put a bit of a dent into the £2355 for me.  Just a thought.

Food is going well again and I have started a new budget.  I have set up a spread sheet to list every single thing I spend which is food related so at the end of this month I will have a true figure as I really do not know what I spend.  Then I will be able to work on reducing it if we can without altering the quality of the food we eat.

We are having left overs again for tea, I just love it when this happens as I feel like it is a free tea without cooking.

Any way back to work for me.  Have a great day everybody.

  • Hi @MissSensible, you are making such good progress, well done.

I will be interested to see how you get on with selling the rings as I also have jewellery that isn't worn, seems a shame for it to just sit there.

Do you have a Lidls nearby?  I picked up one of their £1.50 fruit and veg boxes last night, it was great, I had Bananas, Satsumas, Pomegranates, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, leeks and loads of other stuff, will keep the 3 of us going for at least a week plus I might well make a few meals to freeze to stretch it even further.  Certainly helps stretch the budget and ensure we get plenty of variety in our diet.
