    I'd be more than happy to try and help you solve this problem - need to know what operating system you are using, and then I should be able to give you very simple and specific instructions.

    I have chrome version 94.0.4606.61 running on Windows 7 Pro.
    Time and date appear correct.

    @RainsbowsInTheSpray,

    There are a few videos cropping up on YouTube demonstrating how to install the Lets Encrypt root certificate on Windows 7.
    Here is one example:

    It is a slightly different approach to that which OnlyTheBestWillDo suggests, but same net result:

    Maybe using both together will help you get the job done.

    The video is only two minutes long. There might be other videos that make it clearer for you - no doubt some will be featured on the same page as the YouTube link above.

  • Change the browser to avoid this type of rubbish from Chrome. Firefox doesn't spend your time with this.

    Both together? Why would you suggest such a thing?

    I should have been clearer. Using as a generic term for reading/watching rather than doing.

    The success of learning how to do something often depends on the medium it is being delivered. Some users are better being told what to do. Others better being shown what to do. If I'd have had time to setup a Windows 7 VM I would have created an animated .GIF showing how to do it in the same way as described in your post, but spare time is not a luxury I have had much of this week.

    I couldn't find a YouTube video consistent with your set of instructions either - signal to noise ratio was low on several searches and I didn't have time to run through them all. Hence the suggestion to look for other videos.

    No one is perfect.
