Hey who's taken away the link to my blog from my signature? I contacted Martin personally so he could look at my blog first and he said he was happy for me to have my link. I even had a pm from MSE Andrea to say I was being added to the approved links list so please put it back!

Anyway I wanted to say thanks to the MSE'rs for supporting me and checking out my blog. Last night my views counter went crazy!

I'd love some comments on the blog if anyone has time. Its very new and I need to know its an enjoyable read. I'm just in the middle of writing up my least expensive recipe. Its a cheesy pasta bake. I used to make this when we were struggling to put food on the table because of the money situation but now we are more comfortable with our finances I still make it because the kids love it and its very filling.

    My blog is at http://shirleyuk.wordpress.com/

Hi Angelina....I thought approved links in signatures were only for charities. Can everyone put a link to a blog in their sig now then? I thought that's what the "visit homepage" bit on your user profile was for.

I thought the rules were pretty clear on this....

    SIGNATURE LINKS

The only links permitted in signatures are those of the MSE team, the Forum team, Board Guides and links to charity (ie they are on the Charities Commission Register of Charities). This includes un-activated links. If in doubt, contact abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

I think its because I'm writing it for MSE'ers really. The bits i've done on it pays to watch are very short and are not really long enough to get how to do the whole thing. For instance I was filmed making body butter, so I shall be putting a step by step how to with some pictures on there.

I'm just trying to expand what I did on the show a little bit. There's more chance that people will try out these tips if they have all the information to hand. thirty seconds on TV cant cover everything, it just gives you an idea of what is moneysaving.

I'm not selling anything, just trying to be helpful. I have a bit of free time on my hands so I thought I would do something for MSE and Martin, he's certainly helped me out a lot!

Ok....I just think it's unfair to the other Old Stylers whose blog links were denied.

People who know me on here know I've been through a lot this year and have sort of lost my way a bit. I'm using this blog to get me back up on my feet. I hope I'm doing something good for MSE.

I got nearly all my Christmas presents by reading the threads on the grabbit forums. If I need help with a recipe I just pop a question on the oldstyle bit. Lots of people just lurk and thats fine but I feel like I should do something back. We get this site for nothing and dont even have to endure adverts. I think thats amazing so I want to help out. I dont mean to upset you.

No I'm not upset at all, I didnt even think there was a rule about it. I'm so glad I asked now or I could have been in trouble.... and the mods know what I look like now  :D

I have to say though that the kids are not impressed as they smell the dinner coming out of the oven and I shout, 'get off, I need to take pictures for the blog' I'm cooking meals based on what may interest MSE'ers!

One of the things I love about the OS threads is that we are so NICE to each other, that we respect each other. I sometimes go onto the DFW and other parts of the forum and I find that the men can get arrogant and unpleasant to other posters. I once put on a post that was really quite sensitive and I got some very unpleasantly personal replies. For this reason I don't go on very often.

    - and I thought men were supposed to be rational and objective and women !!!!!y(b-i-t-c-h-y) and irrational.

I did a degree in computers and I was pretty much the only women in the class (there was one other but she kept herself to herself) and i've never known so much !!!!!ing! Men agreeing they were going to have a night off studying then the next day they would have a full set of newly written notes... trying to get one up on each other, it was hilarious! Until I was part of the male crowd i used to think they were all 'mates'
