Finally got a reply to my email sent last week. No mention of making the statutory compensation payments. Will check my bank balance on Monday evening to see if they managed to beat the clock.

I moved to BG 4th October (Dual Fuel to Dual Fuel) and still waiting for my final bill (have stopped the DD) - trouble is a third party company requested a photo meter reading for gas which i gave them on the 7th October so not sure when the clock starts running.
I will wait and see as in no rush for a week or two.
I guess they could argue they did not get the gas reading until x date which would be a hassle to check and verify.0 -
The clock starts running as soon as BG tell you that the switch is complete.. If you have had a bill from BG, look at the start date.

Another reason to be prompt in chasing for these payments is that if your supplier fails without making the payment, your ability to get them goes away, along with their supply licence. An unpaid penalty is not protected in the same way that payments you have made to the supplier.2

Update - They have issued a final bill and credited my account with £30 for the late bill. Refusing to cough up the extra £30 'cos they say the 10 days start from when the final bill is issued.

That is correct, the two are separate standards and the 10 days for the payment begins when the bill is actually issued, not when the 6 weeks to issue the bill has elapsed.FreeBear said:Update - They have issued a final bill and credited my account with £30 for the late bill. Just to be clear, they should pay you £30 for failing to issue the final bill on time. That £30 should be paid within 10 working days. If they fail to do that, that is another failure and a further £30 is due.
Separately, they must refund any credit on your account within 10 working days of issuing the final bill.

Shockingly late final bill, received 9 weeks after leaving them via Avro to Octopus in September.I had to email them to ask for it, like others I mentioned the £30 compensation but the advisor completely ignored it and the final bill made no mention of it too. Very poor from OTM.0

Hi. Yes similar sitauation here. I told them I was entitled to 2x £30 for late billing. They replied that they would speak to billing about a good will gesture. I will just wait on them getting back to me and go to the ombudsman.0
