They were working yesterday - they sent me a SMS inviting me to register for a smart meter. They seemed to have forgotten that I switched away 12 months ago (and obviously wouldn't know that I have since had smart meters fitted) :D

All seems to be working ok today, but @barnaclebill seemed to have had the same issue about 90 mins before you posted and created a thread on it

I left OTM a couple of years ago but went to get a "new customer" quote out of curiosity. I think they've got one of the steepest fixed rates I've ever seen from a budget energy supplier.
    They offered me this:
    • Tariff name: Fix'd X 21 31.0.
    • Payment method: Direct Debit.
    • Electricity unit rate: 48.831p per kWh.
    • Electricity standing charge: 22.718p per day.
    • Gas unit rate: 13.662p per kWh.
    • Gas standing charge: 26.136p per day.
    • Exit fees: £50.00 per fuel.
    • Tariff Term: 12 months
For comparison, Ofgem's average customer would be paying £3200/yr. I think it's safe to say I won't be accepting that offer!
It does make me wonder how many OTM customers have renewed onto that tariff without paying enough attention?

... I love the cheek of the £50 exit fee as well :)
Like you, I do hope nobody has just gone with that fix on a renewal, but I'll bet some have sadly.

48.831p and 13.662p I'm wondering if I should fix with Octopus at 26.72p kWh electric and 8.31p gas those rates look cheap compared to OFTM rates. I'm a low user only using 1600 kWh electric and 1500 kWh gas. £781.29 and  £204.93 is £986.22 and that's before you add nearly £200 for standing charges using my figures.
Someone please tell me what money is

Those rates from OFTM and exit fees are go away rates, better for them that approach than not give quotes, some energy companies do not want new business due to risk of bad debts which smallest companies would find harder to absorb
