Bulb - £1754 in credit!

I've recently discovered that I'm over £1700 in credit with bulb. I've been advised by an automated message that I can reduce my monthly direct debit (currently £140 per month) but when I try to do this it tells me my minimum needs to be £136.16 per month, so I'm not able to reduce my balance that way after all!
Has anyone had any experience of this? Obviously I'm concerned they're going to go bust! I've taken screenshots of my balance and statement showing all the credits going into my account. I really would like a refund and to keep paying £140 per month as the refund would go towards double glazing (to try and keep my bills low!!).
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd cancel the direct debit, that does tend to get attention, I've had to do this in the past with both Avro & Flow in the past when in a lot of credit.1

As per suggestions on the other thread. Are you really that much in credit? Have you submitted regular meter readings?
Check your most recent bill - is this based on an actual meter reading or estimated. If estimated, would suggest you get a bill for the actual meter reading - you may find out if it is a big difference in reading, then there's probably a big difference in the credit balance.
If they appear to be the same and you are genuinely that much in credit then i would pick up the phone and speak to them about it rather than online.

Thanks. I did cancel the DD but then set it up again because I read that they won't calculate a refund or reduction in monthly DD payments unless one is in place.
In terms of is the credit right, that's definitely what their app is telling me and the statement details all the Statement Correction transactions. I did feel like I paid a lot over last winter and always seemed to be increasing my direct debit (I'm very energy conscious with the heating and hot water so wouldn't say my usage is any higher than the average 3 bed terrace which is what my house is).0 -
I've been ringing for days and not spoken to anyone yet. I'll keep trying though but if anyone else has had any similar experiences I would welcome your help. Thanks again.0

I was in the same situation a couple of weeks back. I emailed bulb and asked that they refund my credit balance. They didn't refund it all (retained 1 months' worth) but were incredibly prompt about it all. Might have been 24 hours.
I cancelled the DD as soon as the money was in my account and started the switch to Sainsbury's 2 year fixed deal which should happen on Monday.....hopefully before everything hits the fan.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. From the looks of those screenshots they have just reversed all of your charges for the last year or so, and unless you know why they would do that I would not assume that your balance is correct. Before that series of changes you were just barely at a zero balance having already used the September payment so you were just about to go a little negative again when the September statement was applied and something went wrong...1

I don’t know how bulb bills but it looks to me as if bulb have cancelled all your bills which is all the bill corrections. How long have you been with them for & how much have you paid them in total?1

Thanks again.Avro had / has £500 of mine in credit. I left them, they stalled over returning the money, and then they went bust. You may need to fight to get that money back, as they will hold onto it as long as possible as no doubt they will be on the brink financially. I would ask to speak to a manger straight away. Get a name and keep hastling them until resolved.Having said that, Brie's experience does sound more positive, but do not delay on this.0

That looks weird - what's wit hall the statement corrections? Have you looked at your last bill to see what readings have been used? To these match with the meter readings submitted?1
