I try to be mindful about what I eat (not in a new age mindfulness sense but just thinking logically) and so am trying to minimise when I am tempted or trying to ensure I have something sensible that I like as an easy alternative.  I know there's lots that so no to cheese but cottage cheese or babybels work for me when the OH is shaking the shortbreads or chocolate biscuits at me.

Shocked myself this morning when I got on the scales (a daily reminder to myself, I know lots only weigh weekly) I've been edging down from a mid stone point of 7 pounds hoping to hit 0 before Christmas (well, you know, the next full stone down....) So there I was having been jiggling to 5, 4, 5, 3.8,  4.5, 6, 4.... And this morning I was shocked to see a 10!  What the......!!!???!?!  Of course I didn't have my glasses on so got back on the scales to double check and got the same thing but when I leant down to squint at the scales I saw that it wasn't a 10 but a 1.0!!!   So nice shock!

Now I have no illusions about the (lack of) quality of my scales so have always ignored the fractions shown but am hoping I can hold at this level at least until official weigh in time in a couple of days.

I cant even blame it on the booze. I hardly ever drink. I just seem to have "see the pie, eat the pie" syndrome.
I'm not only see the pie eat the pie I'm also opened the packet finished the packet 🙄

fingers crossed you can keep the 1.0 Brie or even a .00

I’m the same. I’ve seen my sister open a box of chocolates and have a day, and no more than one a day until the box is empty.  Me? I have to finish the box in one setting. So I don’t normally buy any… but my partner does…

I am also an emotional eater. I have been under quite a bit of stress in the last three weeks, and two things have happened: my eating has gone totally out of control (ie I favoured junk food rather than healthy stuff) and I’ve started biting my nails again. Finally, on Thursday evening, I thought “enough is enough”, decided to do the right thing by me and took steps to sort the situation. I felt so much better on Friday morning, and it’s taken me the whole weekend to get back to normal, but I’ve done it!

Hi all I am hanging in there, holding the fort till next week when the holiday kicks in and it's kick the excuses week (and don't over do it week). I don't really have super powers, except I don't really have a sweet tooth, I just love food (and mince pies) and once I have started eating junk, I can go on for weeks. But remember all - it is the most difficult time of the year, our bodies are programmed to build up energy storage as the light dimms. All will be easier once it gets lighter and the last mince pie is eaten.

Miracle of Miracles!!  I've hit the new stone mark!!!  That has me at my year end goal!!!  Hurrah!!!

so the whole 7 pounds have now evaporated.  I'm able to report this as my less than grand scales have agreed this 2 days in a row that I'm actually under the 0 point.  I'll keep trying to be good until I get dragged under by holiday excess.

I shall try to keep in mind I still have a long way to go and if I could keep doing a stone a quarter i would be well happy even if it means my trousers keep falling off in Tescos.

  • Well done Brie!   :D

I am reporting a half a pound loss, which considering  the ever dwindling supply of cheesey footballs, is quite a miracle.  :)
