Well done on doing the whole day in line with your plan. Try not to think of it as a lifetime without treats, you will still be able to have the odd naughty thing occasionally - and it's being occasional that really makes it the "treat"Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hi hotdog, sorry to hear you are struggling to lose weight, for some it’s easy and others not so much! Sorry if this is a bit personal but I believe the nhs are about to authorise the weight loss weekly jabs in certain circumstances as an alternative to surgery for those who for the right criteria. I’ve a friend who has had them privately and lost all the weight. It’s going to be hard dieting until you are in the right frame of mind, I read a book once (maybe it was Paul mc kenna) about weight loss and he said if you are suddenly hungry it’s emotional hunger not actual hunger, it might sound a bit kooky but that stayed with me and helped.

They also say that hunger may not be hunger at all but thirst. Doesn't seem to work for me but you never know it may for you.

A man in your life is more likely to drive you to drink!!

😂 indeed badmemory! It must be worth at least asking about the jab? It’s an alternative to surgery, I mean if not widely available on the nhs yet it is available to buy privately through a national chemist chain after a consultation.
When I said emotional hunger I kind of meant when food is used to change a mood or fill a space if u like such as boredom eating or stress eating. It’s not a real hunger as in stomach rumbling as you are really needing food but an immediate I fancy that NOW type thing, which I’d often find when it’s stuff that’s not so good for you 🙄
I find if I can find a good book that charges the way I think about stuff it helps more than being told what to do by someone else if that makes sense! For example I’d toyed with the idea of having a break from alcohol for a short while, so bought a few books on giving up and it made me question my views on alcohol completely after a lifetime of having plenty of the stuff 😆 I’ve not had a drink since and it’s been four years now, it wasn’t at first it was a few days, then a few weeks then months - I still don’t think my parents have got over the shock 😂 Things are not always that simple I know, but I bet you can achieve more than you think.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1 -
My opinion is that chilli is even better after it has been frozen. Although I think sometimes by the time I eat the final lot that there must be precious little meat in it. I only put 187gm (yes a bit exact I know) in for at least 4 & freeze over half. Add chilli & more tomatoes, kidney beans etc etc & refreeze half. I'm sure you get the picture. I do the same with spaghetti & curry. But I have found that it doesn't taste right without any meat at all at the start.

If you can work from home, do you need to take any time off work at all? I'm thinking work could be a useful distraction to stop you thinking about sugar? I get that you're planning other distractions, but if you're doing those solely to distract yourself, you might find yourself thinking about food more than if you had something a bit more substantial to busy yourself with (I know for me my brain would end up linking the two things together, ie "cleaning = food" and I wouldn't be able to do the cleaning without thinking about the food)
Also, if not buying junk is the driver for staying at home, could you go for a walk round the block but just leave your phone and purse at home? You might go a bit stir crazy if you didn't step outside your door for 3 weeksMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

If people haven't told you the truth about something that happened to you then having thoughts about it that may not always be correct should be expected. Whilst the truth may not set you free (quote from what?) it at least lets you know what you are up against. If this offends please just ask me to delete.1

Have you given any thought to whether some counselling may be useful? It might help to unpick your thoughts with someone who's a third party to it all. Your Mum is probably feeling some guilt about it, which could be why she's trying to stop you raking over things, and getting annoyed with your sisters for talking to you about it, but maybe that's what you need to do to get some closure and move forward. If you're already in contact with your GP, perhaps you could ask what help is available?

Just going back to your point about the air conditioning, Lidl have got a portable air-con unit for sale at the moment for I think £179.99 if I recall correctly. I know you don't want to spend money, but if you really think you would benefit from it, it might be worth looking into?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
