  • I have been paying for 36 months for my phone. I thought now I can keep it for £1.
This is the reply I had from Raylo:
Purchase fee: If you decide you want to buy the device from us then you will be required to pay a fee that is calculated based on the fair market price of the device at the time of purchase. The fee to purchase your device today is *£368.00.*

Non-Return Fee: This comes into effect only if you cannot return the device (eg. it has been lost or stolen). Given the device is lost or stolen, we may also block the device. The non-return fee for your device is *£1*
  • So it's true, you can keep your phone for only £1 but it gets turned into a paperweight.

    Seems fair.....
  • Hey, Raylo are a fantastic company.

For that I won’t lie; but their late fees each and every time a direct debit doesn’t clear (and even when you’ve sent money to pay ahead of the date) incurs a whopping £30 fee. This is close, but usually above 50% of the bill for that month and is applied the day after… whilst you can state a date of payment, it quite often that the fee will still apply, and can add up if it’s not figured within a month.

They will equally, even after a manual payment is completed and when their customer services have confirmed receipt, allow another ‘automated direct debit attempt’ to hit your bank up to 4 days after last attempt.

So do be careful that your bank won’t call in further uncovered direct debit charges for these unsolicited ‘reattempts’.

    other than that, they’re fab!

Jeez. I upgraded after 2 years and was smooth, but did understand this would be the case upon my next….

Perhaps they could do with a consumer services authority to check their practices, as it was the immediate and gargantuan late payment fees that worried me within contract.

Reminds me of Virgin style practices?!
