Possbily not too difficult for them to remove but they have no legal duty to do so.0

Their website doesn't mention much (anything?) about your right to cancel the contract, would be interesting to see what durable information they provide. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

The initial is supposed to last for the life time of the the leather item and is virtually impossible to remove (without leaving nasty marks). Not only has the heat caused the metal foil to make a strong bond with the leather, the pressure has compressed the leather in the embossed section below the actual surface of the other leather.3 -

Well that sounds promising; one advantage of dealing with a prestige house rather than a fake copy merchant! (But I do think that £270 for a belt is a strange value standard in this world.)

Looks about right assuming they duplicate it in a durable medium for the consumer. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
It's common/normal for customised items to be non-returnable unless they are faulty or don't match the advertised description.Removing lettering from what I assume is a leather belt would not be simple. The leather will have been embossed and the gold applied to that area. You cannot easily remove the embossing.1

As I have mentioned I have spoken with a lovely member of their Customer Services department who feels there may be a workaround for me. I will keep you all posted of course.0
