Another nice day today weatherwise. Went for a walk around the village.
One of my favourite programmes is NCIS. In one of the episodes Tony’s Dad (Robert Wagner) makes snickerdoodle cookies. I found a recipe on the BBC website and I made some today. They were so yummy! They will now become a firm favourite recipe.
Breakfast was porridge, lunch soup and dinner tonight was bangers and mash (cooked by DH which made a nice change). And, of course, several snickerdooles each! They are not good for the waistline.
We are going away in the motorhome for two nights next week, so we got that ready.

I’ve just googled for the snickerdoodle recipe - they sound amazing!Where are you heading off to in the motorhome?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

A warning comes with those snickerdoodles - you can't stop eating them!
We are off to Plymouth for a couple of nights. Its only a couple of hours drive away, but will nice to have a bit of city life plus there are some nice little shops down on the Hoe. We will also visit the cinema as I want to see the new film Death on the Nile. We do support our local cinema but its really like sitting in someone's front room and the screen isn't that big. I'm an Agatha Christie fan so this film is a big deal for me, hence the trip

Tried to amend my signature today and mucked it up several times. I am now left with the balance owing on the CC so I’ll leave it at that till next time I pay some off and then attempt the strikethrough thing again.
So, checked my CC balance and now updated. I also managed to put a bit of savings away. Weighed up overpaying, but decided to go with the savings at least while I’m on zero for the majority of that balance. The savings at the moment are going into the Digigold account as that does seem to rise quite quickly. Once the price of gold goes up a bit more I will take money out to overpay on the CC. Fingers crossed gold doesn’t go down!
Very dull and very windy here today, but no rain as yet.
A few more bits to be packed into the motorhome.
I stopped watching Hope Street as in my opinion it got very silly. I am now watching (will finish today as only two more episodes to go) Magpie Murders on Britbox – it is excellent. I think I will need to get the book.
I am doing a murder mystery quilt. Comes from the US and costs about £4 a month. I get a chapter of a mystery and directions on how to make a quilt block. After the year we have 12 blocks and then get to put them together to make a quilt and that should reveal the murderer – at least I think that’s how it works. I got the second block this week and have almost finished it. Just need to read the next chapter. It is good fun and I think good value for money. I am using lots of my stash of fabrics too, so very MSE.
Brunch today will be bacon and fried egg butty, dinner tonight is salmon, rocket, coleslaw and wedges. We may have some prosecco tonight and perhaps a few nibbles!

Had to get some milk and butter today so no NSD.
Breakfast was American pancakes with berries and yoghurt, lunch spinach and lentil pie from my new Hairy Bikers cookbook. Tonight we will have a few oven chips as snacks if we feel hungry.
Final bit of packing and getting the motorhome ready. All the food is in the fridge and I’ve done a meal plan. The only thing we will be “eating out” will be a coffee in the morning and perhaps tea in the afternoon. All meals will be eaten in the motorhome. So a nice budget break J

I'll be interested to see if you work the signature thing out - I'm completely at a loss with how to do stuff like that in the new forum!
Have a lovely trip to Plymouth and enjoy the film!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Back home and back on track – still hoping to meet my NSD target, which will mean no more spending for the rest of Feb. I have milk and a freezer and cupboard full of food so I should survive
Baking today, two cakes, two apple pies and an Eve’s pudding made. One of the cakes is for one neighbour and the one of the pies for another neighbour. The rest for us.
As it was the last day of our break we had breakfast out, a mini fry up. Dinner tonight is oven chips and scampi with peas and then for pudding it will be a piece of pie or Eve’s pud.
Bit of housework and tidying up done. Washing from the holiday still to be done.

Very windy here, but then it normally is, but really I have never seen the winds so strong. Yesterday DH went into the garden and battened down anything that might blow away. He’s just been out and checked and so far no slates have come off the roof – but boy is it windy!
No plans for today, I think we will just stay in and have a lazy day.
Breakfast was scrambled eggs on oatcakes. Lunch will be pea soup and supper tonight will be pizza – that’s as long as we don’t have a power cut.

Very windy here too, with amber warning 🚦
I went out for my usual walk 🐾 as I'd been stuck in due to deliveries etc
The actual noise of the wind could worry some , but trees seem ok ..so far 🤞
Some people forgot about their bins not being empties today and left them on the pavements . Only one or two horizontal .It's supposed to be worse early - mid afternoon ..
Lazy day seems best 😼2
