i have not received my DQ (Form N180) from CCBC yet. so i downloaded from the link provided. i have filled the form as advised.
    I have one query.
    1. Do i print it, sign it, scan it and then email it back to CCBC same as defence.
    or
    2. do i not need to print and sign, and instead just type my full name in the "signature" box of the form and email it back to CCBC.

You can look at witness statements by @jrhys and @Nosy for examples of style and format but the content must be yours and support and back up your defence.  The named defendant MUST attend any and all court hearings.  You can have a McKenzie friend or a Lay Rep with you (Auntie Google will explain both of those).

Not possible for your friend to go without you. Look up the role of the Lay Representative.
Are you sure it's a physical hearing or one conducted by video/telephone link.

Examples of good Witness Statements - check out threads by @nosy and @jrhys
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • thankyou Le_kirk and umkomaas for replying.

thank you both for providing the links for witness statement examples, however when i click the links it takes me to the sort of a profile page for Nosy, jrhys. i cant see any examples of witness statements.

so i understand that i must attend the court.
i still will ask my friend to come with me to court and speak on my behalf (I understand after reading on google a bit about Lay rep, that my friend can be my lay rep.) but just wanted to confirm that that he is neither a solicitor/trainee solicitor nor with any such legal qualifcation. can he still be my lay rep and speak on my behalf while i will be with him in court. please let me know.
