Avro Energy - What happens to direct debit payments taken after they ceased trading?

I've gone by the email I had from Octopus on 26th September, where they said: "If you pay by Direct Debit, this will continue as usual and automatically start crediting us rather than Avro."Close to impossible for Octopus to have done this, they have only just got access to the staff and systems and they have certainly not transferred the DD yet or it would have their name on it.A lot of you are taking the term 'ceased trading' far too literally...The company has gone into administration and is currently being run by the administrators and while they have limits on what they can do, collecting money from customers is certainly allowed, but depending on the date and the state of the customers account, they will have to pass on all or part of that money to Octopus.0 -
Yes, the email on the 26th did say that, but as it's taken a bit longer then expected before Octopus was able to get into Avro's system some peoples d/d could have gone to Avro, that's my way of thinking. Either way, I'm not worried because I know it will eventually get sorted.lloydyyy said:

True. Even if my DD shows up on my Avro account I'll be happy - as long as it hasn't gone down a black hole somewhere!Yes, the email on the 26th did say that, but as it's taken a bit longer then expected before Octopus was able to get into Avro's system some peoples d/d could have gone to Avro, that's my way of thinking. I cancelled my DD as soon as Avro went bang and couldn't care less. I'm 100% certain Octopus will be in touch soon enough with my new DD amount but if they're desperate they can use my £300 credit for now, I am nice like that

Cancelled mine straight away too.
No new one set up as yet. Waiting to hear properly from them regarding new tariff, DD amount, DD date, etc
I wonder if they would allow a DD for the full amount of each monthly bill instead of this supposed "evens itself out over the year" scenario.
That way, I hold any excess budget, not the supplier.0 -
Cancelled mine as soon as and now I have new account and DD set up with Octopus, they sent an email so I just got it done, if they take payment this week then I'm roughly £350 in credit which will last until Xmas if I'm lucky

The DD taken by Avro on 5th October hasn't been applied to my Avro or Octopus accounts. I emailed Octopus about it and also said that the email I received from Octopus on 26th September stated that DDs will continue as usual and automatically start crediting Octopus Energy rather than Avro. However, the DD has not been credited to either my Avro or Octopus accounts. Octopus replied and said:
"Once a direct debit is taken it may not show on the Avro account due to their administration. We will review the details of any credit once we receive the information from Avro’s administrators and apply this credit to your Octopus Energy account as soon as possible. This may take a few weeks depending on our ability to fully access this information from Avro’s administrators."
I've cancelled my DD with Avro and I'm reluctant to set one up with Octopus until the credit I'm owed is applied.

I cancelled and switched the day it happened.Switch has gone through 3 days ago and im back on a fixed with another supplier.I also took action to recover my losses as im sure ofgem and the administrators have our best interests in mind while they sit on 1000s of £ of our hard earned cash.0

Woohoo! The DD taken on 5th October has been credited to my Avro account. The balance on my Avro account is correct according to my own records. Relieved. The payment and updated balance is showing on the old site but not the new one which is odd.1
