Makes no sense to me, as you are likely to make an offer on the house you preferred / loved in the first place, and then you do your due diligence through the buying process, and to me going back between times says to me that you are either not 100% convinced, or 100% committed. No point between exchange and completion, as too many other things to do and committed at that point anyway. When you are finally in, you have a long time to measure and faff about to your heart's content!Measuring up can be left if you have a square house etc. If you have an old quirky house then measuring up can be very important.
sales info? The sales info we were given had 3 huge errors in it. Do you actually trust the marketing information?
My comments are about the need of a viewing vs i just want to go measure up and see the place again.0 -

If you are buying a quirky house do your measurements on the first viewing.0 -
We viewed the house we are buying and almost put in an offer straight after (something against my usual nature) but the lovely owners encouraged us to come back again so we did the very next day as there was a lot to take in and then offered the same day.Since then, we hadn’t asked to go back. Our solicitor advised us to go before exchange but in the end we only managed after exchange (as exchange was inevitably delayed) but still before completion. We wanted to measure the windows as they are taking all the blinds, curtains and curtain rails so just wanted to get some temporary blinds and coverings until we can organise them properly. We also wanted to just see the house again and talk to the sellers as it has been a few months and some solicitor’s wrangles that we didn’t even know about!Anyway we were so happy we did as they have pretty much moved everything out and we loved the house as much as we did the first time we saw it. There’s a bit more to do in terms of decoration than we thought now there are empty walls with lots of holes in but we can live with that as everything else was as expected and promised. So I would advise to go as close to exchange as possible and make that the last one. Also you may want to be clear that it is to measure and not just to see if you’ve made a mistake or because you’re getting cold feet as some sellers may think the worst.0

I don't think the OP is being unreasonable asking for another viewing prior to exchange. I'd also go again once prior to completion.1

Personally I have never had any issues with purchasers requesting further viewings for whatever reason providing it could be arranged at a time that did not cause major inconvenience to my own schedule.
In fact when we sold the unoccupied holiday flat in the Lakes we entered into a watertight, legally binding key undertaking with the purchasers to allow them free access to plan a complete renovation.Worked really well for both parties with the added bonus that when we travelled up the day before the removals were due to collect the remaining furniture they had already cleaned the entire apartment from top to toe and they left us the most amazing food and wine hamper by way of thanks for being flexible in our approach.

I understand the need to view if there are issues not when someone wants an hour to run around with a tape measure which is unnecessary to the sale.0 -

"measure up" is not just about where you're putting your sofa.1 -

If someone is prepared to be flinging several hundred thousand pounds in my direction I personally feel it is the right thing to do to try to accommodate reasonable requests.4
