I said I would update when my monster shop was delivered. It works out as follows:
£73.50 alcohol offers (not in this budget, it is in Treats and entertainment)
£27.75 more treats (crisps, ice cream, chocolate etc, in the same as the alcohol)
£64.00 stores (in groceries but a separate heading)
£57.93 groceries including cat treat, food and litter (£14.10).
Off to update my end of September tally (the above is all in October's accounts but will last a lot longer)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Well, I'm "off" into October's budget with a supermarket spend of £41.50 on meat, cream, yogurt, bread and a few odds & sods. More will be spent at the market tomorrow on cheese, fish & fresh fruit & veg, though I did stop at the allotment on my way home from Down West & pick beans, leaves & more raspberries. Got soaked, but hopefully I managed to shore up the runner beans against the unrelenting wind. Lost one of our two tall sunflowers though, and the Jerusalem artichokes have taken a battering. Ah well, it's the roots we eat, not the flowers, pretty though they are!Angie - GC Aug25: £478.51/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

Like joedenise I also use a Tesco Cc for the points and only shop there if they send out a decent money off voucher. I’ve just paid for my senior railcard using Clubcard pointsGrocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget7

Bit of a mad dash to L!dl after work in the dark and pouring rain as it’s payday and the last chance to get the £10 off £200 spend. Stocked up on monthly basics including most of the meat, fish, treats (and booze) for the month.
Nice cashier on who let me break my shop into two halves so I could get the coupon in between.Spent £92.12/£280. Got the veg and fruit box being debited tomorrow at £75.20, ouch, that’s in arrears from last month. Should probably cancel it but the quality is really fab and I like the variety and the fact it isn’t all wrapped in plastic.6 -
First spend of October for a Magic Bag from Morries for £3.09, so a nice low start. £246.91 left.

First spend of the month £14.24/ £300.
I decided that I would get dh to go so that we would save fuel and time tomorrow- may not do that again! 😂 Gave him a list - he didn’t exactly stick to it 🙈 lesson learned!!
However, the stuff should see us through the week now - although we will need soft fruit which we buy every few days.....
Quick query, are the bags of frozen fruit more economical to use?DNF: £708.92/£1000
