JET2 Turkey Flight cancellation after Turkey removed from Red list

Options
We purchased Jet2 flights departing 23rd October from Edinburgh to Dalaman, Turkey. These were suddenly cancelled by Jet 2 on Thursday after the announcement removing Turkey from the Red list. They have sent an email indicating that I have cancelled the flights! Am I correct in thinking that we can opt for an alternative flight rather than the refund? They have flights from 3 other airports on the correct days.

Why not call them and politely ask about options from other airports?
  • They will not talk to me because our flight is not within the next 21 days. I tried phoning, messaging, facebook chat etc before posting on here.
An additional problem is that they have cancelled the booking, put that it was a customer cancellation and I now don't have a booking to talk about! I can't message them online in the normal way because the website now doesn't recognise my booking number.

Whilst Jet2 seemed to not be operating EDI/DLM on a Saturday (23rd Oct), they are operating late October dates on a Tuesday and Thursday.

Was there something in that email they sent you which included a prompt or button to press for a cancellation rather than rescheduling option?  It sounds like possibly something was pressed or picked up to indicate you acknowledged the 23rd cancellation and then a refund process likely started.

I am sure with your old booking reference number they can locate your details.  Perhaps not using an automated online service but if you call (again) or message via social media.  Whilst the pre recorded message may suggest not calling unless your holiday is within 21 days, if you hold on and connect with an operator I am sure they will deal with you.
