Well another small thing today remembered my NHS pre payment prescription direct debits are taken over 10 months and not 12 so this month and next month are my “free” months so to speak, so instead of leaving the money in current account that too has been sent to my MbNA credit card. Only extra 10.59 off the debt but better than nothing and saves it being frittered away on something else. Also had a £5 welcome back credit from PayPal (after using it again after ages if not using it to creat direct debit for switch incentives ) so have claimed that , withdrawn from PayPal account and sent from current account to the credit card debt too.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..2

We had a massive fish tank leak this morning which has been a pain. 300 litres of water all over the living room floor!! We found the leak and have sealed it all back up so have to refill tomorrow. I'm just off to asda to do some food shopping but leaving OH at home as I always spend over budget when buying foodI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Welcome @anna42hmr and well done on the extra payments you have managed to make. Please don't think that 'only £27.40 or £10.59 don't make a difference, because they do. Literally every penny counts with paying back debt. That is the way most of us do it / have done it, small, sometimes tiny amounts at a time. Certainly it was how I did it. I just kept going till one day there was no more to pay back. You will get there@jadewest94 what a nightmare re the fish tank - were the fish ok?3

@DawnW luckily there was enough water left for the fish to swim around but barely! Hello, feeling inspired by your efforts. So adding a few of my own!
-Took the children to the library this week: 33 free books to read! 🥰
-Began using my cloth nappies again after a period of exclusively using disposables...still going to use a disposable at night, but every little helps.
-Monitor how much washing powder I need to use per load. I think I've been using way too much, so I'm going to cut down on that.
-Look at options for reducing my mobile phone bill now that I'm out of contract.
-Harvest some apples from dsil's apple trees. They are usually left to the birds.
-Blackberry picking for the freezer (smoothies/porridge)
-Tackle flower/weed bed and sow bulbs and herbs.Debts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100

Morning folks!
Sorry for being so rubbish at posting
Welcome to @castlelough
@jadewest94 - argh to the fish tanks!
Very spendy week unfortunately. 2 new tyres for the car at £150 each (although that included all the labour and disposal of the old ones etc).. OH and I went out for an impromtu drinkies on Thursday and I had a horrid hangover on Friday. Alcohol doesn't always seem to agree with me (only had 3 pints so not tonnes!).
In small things though, made a good start on my Christmas (shhhh) knitting and generally pootling round the house. Don't really want to use the car as the numpties have bought all the blimming petrol and OH needs it for work on Monday. Although I am supposed to be going out for a meal today. Going to get OH to drop me off and I'll walk home. It's about 5.5 miles but I have spotted that I can walk back all the way along the river which will be rather fun.
The list:B/D from stores
No alcohol with my meal out
Lovely long walk = free exercise
Do a bit of work - swapped my days this week but d/t issues on the vessel, they aren't working so I'm surplus to requirements
Strip and remake the bed, wash the bedding and get it on the line to dry
Write up my plan for next week
Have a good one all

How’s everyone doing with the petrol situation? People here in Caerphilly seem to be panic buying and the petrol stations are running out because of this. I have half a tank so am not worrying. If push comes to shove I have a bus pass.Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini1
