What small DFW things will you do this wee 20.09.21?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning everyone
hope you don't mind me coming back after so long and starting the thread!
Today is a big day for me as I start my MA in Social Work. I'm a bit excited and a lot nervous about how I'll manage it with work, a young family and my dd is ill again so that's been really stressful for an ongoing period.
I haven't kept up with the thread so hope I can try and see all your news. Hope life is good for you all!
Small things:
* taking los in a flask for lunch, fruit for snacks
* reused a zip lock bag
* quick tidy round, vacuum and mop the floor before heading off
* catching the bus so I don't have to contend with traffic and finding somewhere to park miles away from uni. Hopefully that will give me an extra 40 mins a day to read
* madam going to a extra curriculum activity after school so no need to pay for after school club
* checked meal plan for dinner
* check in with dd and hope that today she comes here so I can look after her
* TOMM after uni/school pick up
* make madams pack up for tomorrow
* bath, book and pamper session tonight
Ok that's my lot. Hope you all have a good weekDF as at 30/12/16

Morning folks!
Nice to "see" you DNMS - good luck! I'm sorry your dd isn't well at the moment. Always here if you want to drop me a message x
Feeling a bit chaotic here - feel like I'm hurtling through massive to-do lists constantly. Some of it is seasonal (preserving - I'm looking at you) and some of it is self-inflicted. I'm trying to remember why I didn't do these things during my 6 month long furlough. Some of it was lack of money, some of it was the time of year, but I think a lot of it was how soul-sucking it was being unsure of what was happening for that long. I was definitely struggling to find any "get up and go".
OH and I were discussing yesterday how we're veering between wanting to be all "good and on it" (healthy eating, budgets etc) then getting all giddy and doing anything we fancy. Definitely a pandemic-furlough reaction. Just need to sit and pick it apart a bit in my head.
Today though:B/L/D from stores. Not sure what dinner will be yet.
WFH - saves petrol. May WFH tomorrow too...
Use mooncup
Nip to the allotment to pick more haws. Turn into bottle of haw ketchup. OH didn't like it last year but I never tried it so we'll see. The berries from the hawthorn at the back of our plot are huge - the biggest I've ever seen!
Bit of crochet. Trying to make some headway on a project that has been sitting around too long. Started a wreath for myself, then m-i-l wanted one too so I have to make double the stuff. It's a really fiddly job. Lots of tiny individual pieces to make (and the attendant ends to sew in!)
Do free stretching routine.
Have a good one all

Afternoon allThanks for starting the thread DNMS. Lovely to 'see' you back, and good luck with your MABusy morning -Dog walkMade ratatouille to include home grown aubergines, courgettes and garlic. Courgette pile is currently non-existent as DD relieved me of loads yesterday.Made a big pot of bolognese, to use up more bendy vegetables and freezer bitsMade 3 banana and choc chip cakes for friend who is doing the MacMillan coffee morning thing as usual this year. Used 3 black bananas from the freezerCleared 2 tubs of lettuce (mainly weeds now truth be told, as most of the lettuce had been eaten), and sowed with rocket and coriander. Might be a bit late, but only a few old seeds lost if it doesn't work.Load of washing currently drying on the lineStill need to:Prep fruit for marmalade - a mixture of unappetising clementines, an elderly lime and some lemon shells, all saved in freezer till there was enough. I will need to add lemon juice to make that lot set!Freeze more beansPack ratatouille into tubs and freezeCheck banks and update spreadsheetI'm sure there is more, but at least there is only pasta to cook for dinner tonight.4
