Because it's adjacent to a house the school once owned then sold to the former school caretaker and his wife who was a teacher at the school. They both then complained to the council about the lighting...after a long career at the school and obtaining their home from it the school now cannot use parts of it's own grounds.1

More entitlement imo. Probably got a discount on the house and wanted more"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

My friend lived on a small, recently built housing estate on what had been fields. Behind the house was a slope with some trees and then farm land.
After a few years the farmer sold out to a developer.
My friend commented to the farmer's wife that it was a pity they would now lose their view.
The farmer's wife replied 'yes, we used to have a nice view.'

We rented with a night club opposite the (wide) street. Didn't think the noise from the music would be a problem and it wasn't that bad. What I haden't banked on however was the 4am drunken shouting matches outside our bedroom window. We learnt to sleep with earplugs and moved as soon as the 6 months term was up. Thanks goodness we were renting and didn't buy it!1
