Oddly there is a school beside me who are no longer allowed to have lights on their AstroTurf so cannot use the area in winter. Why? Because it's adjacent to a house the school once owned then sold to the former school caretaker and his wife who was a teacher at the school. They both then complained to the council about the lighting...after a long career at the school and obtaining their home from it the school now cannot use parts of it's own grounds.
I bet the lighting was a fake argument and really it was the noise and thudding of the ball they didn't like.  Perhaps also cars parking in the area with engines running each night.  But I'm not disagreeing with you that it was a bizarrely strange stunt to pull
There's no access to the area for cars. It's just an outdoor excersise area but either way they knew it was there before buying the property. Odd though choosing professions and choosing to live in the property of a sector you don't like the noise of.

More entitlement imo. Probably got a discount on the house and wanted more

  • We rented with a night club opposite the (wide) street. Didn't think the noise from the music would be a problem and it wasn't that bad. What I haden't banked on however was the 4am drunken shouting matches outside our bedroom window. We learnt to sleep with earplugs and moved as soon as the 6 months term was up. Thanks goodness we were renting and didn't buy it!

Prevent any issues in sleeping in your apartment that has certainly been above the nightclub longer than you've been there, by staying in aforementioned nightclub until closing. Save a fortune on a taxi home!
