Maskface said:Oddly there is a school beside me who are no longer allowed to have lights on their AstroTurf so cannot use the area in winter. Why? Because it's adjacent to a house the school once owned then sold to the former school caretaker and his wife who was a teacher at the school. They both then complained to the council about the lighting...after a long career at the school and obtaining their home from it the school now cannot use parts of it's own grounds. You couldn't make it up. Bit like moving next to a church then complaining about the bells really."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Think you need help on renting your next flat.
Take an older mature streetwise person with you next time you view.

Same with said townies complaining about sheep bleating, cows mooing and "country smells" where they've bought.
Actually the farmer drives his tractor past our window 3 times a year in his field ....i am not keen on that lol Maybe he should stop growing crops so close to my house lol ...And when he ploughs the field , it looks muddy and dirty . Not keen on that either..lol .. ruins my picturesque view.

Jaybee_16 said:Moved to a village in March. Local farmer sprayed sileage onto the fields yesterday. Certainly didn't smell like aftershave but I chose to move to the countryside so accept the stink. I knew what country life was like before I moved here.
The slurry only smells for a few days depending on the weather.
I do have to remind hubby each time that we chose a house in the middle of fields.1 -
I always find it strange that people on new housing estates complain about planning for new housing estates next to them.8

TfL stopped making platform announcements after early evening, so as not to disturb the residents.
Those platforms opened in 1863.3 -
My favourite is someone buying a house next to an airport and then moaning about the noise of the planes taking off!2

Add those that buy next to a motorway and then complain about the noise to the list of idiots that blame everyone but themselves.1
