I left an email but God knows when they will pick it up. Very disappointed 2 year old here... *sigh*0

A few months ago during lockdown , I too had issues using the iPlayer . I had the ' something went wrong ' message also. I tried the My5 and itv hub to test and had problems there also .
I disconnected and reset my freesat box , but what dawned on me was that it was probably my wifi being weak as everybody and their dog 🦮was using internet at the same time . It has improved since .Just a thought ..1 -

As a general rule the bigger streamers are on all platforms. Some of the more obscure ones may only be on certain ones. Prime, Netflix, iPlayer, Disney+, Now (TV), Discovery+ (might be on Roku, not sure if its on the Now TV Roku boxes) are on anything and everything.Remember of course Amazon has vested interest in Prime Video for obvious reasons. Netflix and Disney don't have a platform preference and Now used to (towards Roku) but since they became available on the Firestick they're platform neutral. Still supporting older boxes though (black and later).0

OP, you can pick up a Now TV box for £30 with about £25 worth of free passes - the now tv box gives access to I-player as well as others. The free passes are for entertainment, movies, and a sky day pass e.g. at Argos. Just connect it to your tv via an HDMI slot and away you go. Cheap easy workaround that may have some future use .
Please note - If you want to use the passes you just sign up to Now TV via the web, input the codes, and login with the same details via your now tv box. Remember to cancel them before they expire otherwise the service rolls over and you get charged. There's no requirement to maintain the service to use the box.
