Bbc iplayer won't let me sign in on smart tv

Have you tried doing a software update - see page 30 of the manual

Thanks for the suggestion, I've tried updating but apparently it's up to date according to the message I get. Tried resetting as well and that hasn't worked.

I called sharp and apparently this has been happening to lots of people and I need to call BBC about it...the number they gave me just has a pre recorded message saying they can't take my call. I left an email but God knows when they will pick it up. Very disappointed 2 year old here... *sigh*

Usually we log in, and (from memory) a code is generated on TV screen, which we input on computer.  Then allowed to continue on TV screen.

Yes I've tried that but the code doesn't come up on the TV screen, there is a little half circle that whirls around for a few seconds but before the code is generated, it takes me to the page that says 'something has gone wrong'.

Would it be possible to "cast" Iplayer from your phone to TV as temporary work round?

Not sure if that would work sadly as don't think it's a freeview issue?
