Fined by CPM for parking on residential property but time on notice wrong.

I drove into a residential area near my sons school in Anne Compton Mews, SE london. I stopped in an unmarked spot at 08.33am. it was during school run morning. i came out and saw the sign but returned back to my car and moved out of the spot, total time spent 2mins. i received a ticket by post saying i parked outside a marked bay at 09.03am on said day. Taken by patrol but at that time i was at another school dropping off another child. help please what do i do to appeal this. I have 2weeks left.

Have you studied the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements ?

That thread gives you your options , including appeal template and IPC information

Can you prove the time and duration you were there ?

Mobile phone data. ? Dashcam footage ?? Etc
  • thank you for responding.
i can prove my son was dropped off on time as he resumes 08.30 and i drop second child 2miles away at 09.00am. i could not be at said spot at that time as i had to drop other child in school.
i can get some parents to confirm via witness statement. if that would help

It would in a court case , but it's a long time before that happens

I was thinking of proof of where the vehicle was , or you were , like mobile phone data or dashcam footage

In future , never stop on private land , it encourages this sort of cowboy behaviour

Assuming you are the registered keeper of the vehicle, you should appeal this charge using the blue text template appeal easily found in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.

Send it unchanged - no additions or alterations needed.

    Send it as the keeper.

Doesn’t work like that with the kangaroo court of the IAS.  This isn’t a real parking fine and isn’t handled by telling them what happened and thinking they’ll be reasonable.

Grace periods as an appeal argument will have a chance though, unless their self ticketer has actually falsified photo times to make it look like your car was there half an hour.

Go on the UKCPM website and pretend you want to pay by card (DON’T ACTUALLY PAY THE SCAM!) and you should see all the photos and purported times embedded into the images.  What do you see?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Have you complained to your MP?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • thanks coupon-mad. i have checked and the time stamp on the pictures differ from the pcn issue time stated.

upon looking at the pictures i discovered i was not being fined for the entry into the estate but for parking atthe entrance where there is no yellow line and no markings which i should assume is a public space now. also till date numerous cars still park there as there are no markings and it is the entrance into the street. happy to show you pictures.

Show the forum (not me) pictures and go on the Local Council parking enforcement TRO maps and see if they prove that area was public highway and adopted road enforced by the Local Authority.
