Our freezer needs to be defrosted so we are trying to empty it by daily cooking something from all it's contents.
Found some boneless lamb leg steaks lurking in there, that we decided to eat today but I'm not sure what to do with them... I know I can either fry or grill the steaks but I'd like to give them a bit of flavor.
I do have most of the basic herbs and spices at home (and fresh mint in the garden). Any suggestions?
We will be serving them with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and potatoes0 -
I'd marinate them in garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and oregano or rosemery for as long as possible. Then grill or barbecue, season well. Chop them into chunks and make kebabs if you like.
I'd serve with rosemary roasted new potatoes, grated carrot salad and yogurt with lots of chopped mint in.0 -

Hi
I was going to say turn them into kebabs in pitta breads - then I saw you'd be serving them with potatoes and veg...doh.Avon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0 -

Hi MRSTITTLEMOUSE,
There is advice on cooking lamb steaks and what to serve them with which should help on this thread:

I'll add your post to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Depending on the cut, I would either sprinkle with dried rosemary and grill until medium but still pink, or braise in a small amount of red wine/stock and rosemary, thickening into a gravy.
Mash is fab with lamb, and for veg either lightly cooked buttered cabbage or some green beans or peas. I also like a good glob of mint sauce on the side.
Apart from mint and rosemary, I believe redcurrant is a good partner to lamb, but haven't tried it myself.
