    Good afternoon all :)

I have bought some lamb steaks which we are going to have with veg and new potatoes.
Or a nice sauce that goes well with lamb steaks?

That's a coincidence. We had lamb steaks last night.

I did a nice marinade which I found in a cook book and put them in it for 2 hours before cooking. Then patted them dry before grilling them.

    2 tablespoons of liquid honey
2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
    2 cloves of garlic
    Season.

They were very flavourful. I only grilled them quite lightly, about 5/6 mins on each side.

    Hmmm...

Red wine, rosemary and garlic all go really well. I usually pan fry and add whichever of these is available. I don't know what damsons taste like so can't advise on that! You can make inserts into the lamb with a sharp knife and put in slivers of garlic and rosemary before grilling or baking. Not too much as you do not want an overpowering flavour.

    HTH and enjoy

Hi. I have two very small uncooked (defrosted) lamb steaks. They will need using up today. Anyone any ideas what I can do with them (apart from grill them etc)? I dont want to throw them(although the dogs are eyeing them up).

Any ideas welcome. Need to feed two adults.

    Thanks

If you've got some yoghurt and curry paste, you could cut the lamb into chunks and marinate it for a while in a curried yoghurt mix, then thread it onto skewers interspersed with bits of onion and mushroom (if you've got them). Grill them for about 20 minutes. The OH loves these. :)

I was going to say a stiry fry, but if you have no noddles, why not chop them finely, add any veg you have left, stir fry it all and then add some sauce (whatever you have or a tin of toms) then serve with rice?

ooh make harira (trad muslim lamb soup/stew)
onions lamb, chickpeas tinned toms and puree some cumin and ginger a bit of spinach-I made this the other day and was truly amazing! (i made with neck fillet but don't see why couldn't use leg steak
ps I used tinned rather than dried as life is too short to soak pulses even if it is very MSE :D
