Has anybody managed to get credit card alerts to work using the Halifax app?
I've enabled it but nothing happens, does it actually work?

I don't have a Halifax CC, but I do have a Lloyds card, I have CC notifications turned on in the app but it doesn't seem to do anything.1

Lloyds tell me the only notification sent (using CC notifications) is if payment is due and there is no DD set up. That won't apply in my case.1

Ah OK, that's no use to me either. I was hoping for a notification every time the card was used.northwalesd said:Lloyds tell me the only notification sent (using CC notifications) is if payment is due and there is no DD set up. That won't apply in my case.Stompa0 -
I have a card with the Bank of Scotland and they told me the same as a PP has stated, the only time a notification gets sent is when a payment is due (excluding those paying by DD) but having a conversation with them on the phone, they told me they plan to unveil a new notification system in the future that notifies you after every transaction, which is what I am waiting for as is many people.1

I did ask Lloyds a few months ago whether they planned on notifications for their CC products in the same way as DCs, i.e. a notification on each spend. At that time they said there were no plans, but said they would feedback to the development team (who knows if they actually would).Stompa said:

Halifax debit cards show instant notifications, but not credit cards. There must be something about credit cards that makes it harder to do? Am sure there are people on here who'll know what.1

John Lewis credit cards (run by HSBC) is the only one I'm aware of that do transaction alerts when card is used.

Quick update - I used my Lloyds credit card yesterday, and got an instant notification of the purchase on my phone.0

Thanks, I'll enable notifications in the Halifax app and see what (if anything!) happens.northwalesd said:Quick update - I used my Lloyds credit card yesterday, and got an instant notification of the purchase on my phone.Stompa1 -
Oh, don't get your hopes up, I think it was a notification from Google Pay (which I've just started using again), How embarrassed am I?1
