I think that @cattom's post demonstrates that there will always be people who will use local shops or big supermarkets despite not getting best value for money rather than make some changes to their habits. But he will have his fly spray and we Aldi shoppers will miss out. ☹️0

My sister has mentioned in the passed that Aldi shelves are always well stocked too.Cornucopia said:
I think the OP is querying the normal, standard range of Aldi rather than temporary shortages.Don't think it's just Aldi. My local Tesco's have been a bit hit and miss with some products I buy over the past month or so and that's a Tesco Extra. I think it will only get worse before it gets better.
If my local Aldi is anything to go by, they seem to be less prone to "shelf gaps" and arbitrary shortages than the bigger supermarkets, and that might mean that their distribution process is already flexible and effective...
... or it could be that the regional Aldi depot is just down the road.1 -
Frankly it's hard to get proper kidney in any shop - Aldi, Lidl - never seen it - but also never in Tesco or Sainsburys. Frequently in Waitrose but otherwise it's a butcher. OH makes a divine snake and pygmy! Even put oysters in it once or twice!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I certainly wouldn't be writing it off on that basis.
While I don't know huge amounts of people, I'd happily bet my next months wages that nobody I do know, or work with, who is under 40 eats kidney.
If you're asking someone who is under the age of 30 (IE, a shop worker), they're limited in their knowledge. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that young people were asking why a certain boyband were all wearing "red flowers".1 -
Aldi is a continental store so I’m not surprised he/she couldn’t get Victoria sandwich or steak n kidney pudding in there.0

Lidl and Aldi realised that to access the jingoistic British pockets they were going to have to go native. A few prominently placed Unions Jacks (or St Andrews flags in Scotland) did the trick.Cornucopia said:

No man is worth crawling on this earth.

but we are not on the continent. if I want a continental store then I'll go to the continent.whydoineedone said:Aldi is a continental store so I’m not surprised he/she couldn’t get Victoria sandwich or steak n kidney pudding in there.0 -
No we don't live on the continent but the majority of us enjoy foods from all over the world without actually going there to buy it. I'm sure I read that chicken Tikka Masala was the favourite national dish and we have Walter Raleigh to thank or we wouldn't have roast potatoes with our beef. 🤣cattom said:

Incidentally, Aldi sells both. 😉2
