Hooray to finding a builder. We have also found a painter who is going to do the outside of the house (and I might ask him about some inside stuff if he is really good). Late May early June is the plan here.
I hope your leg continues to improve. Give it timeSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Last day of NN tonight, so let's hope for no more CC payment mistakes
I am zonked. Spent my day "off" being productive and getting stuff ready for the arrival of the new arrival (ETA a month tomorrow)! Took DD to the inlaws, then went to S@insbury's, Ald1, H0me Barga1ns, H0mebase (paint swatches for the kitchen) and A5da. Also got petrol, inflated the tyres before our Easter trip to Penrith with family next week and took DD to her swimming lessonCame home and ordered some vouchers for a relative's significant birthday (contribution towards some new camping equipment suggested by their spouse). I have earned my little beer
Got a bargainous new baby monitor for £40 (old one gubbed and still used for the one lullaby it can now play by DD), nappies, towels, blankets and sleeping bag and some lovely Tu bargains at 50% off in their clearance sale. Also collected some odds and sods like dummies, bubble bath and the like. Somewhat spendy, but all budgeted for and well within parameters, just a lot of stuff, IYSWIM? Still, having a new baby is hardly the time in most people's life where they feel like they're doing the environment a solid, is it?
The parent of one of DD's school friends is dropping off a preloved baby seat for us after we discovered that FIL is basically just using one of those crappy polystyrene blocks that they had when I was 10It saved us £45ish, so I picked up a decent bottle of wine and some posh chocolate for them to say thanks.
Now to get DD to bed and sit on my posterior - happy weekend all

Sounds spendy but worthwhile. Great to have a preloved bargain too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done. I too find that kind of life admin really irritating. You should be able to close it via the app.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Had the same issue with closing accounts recently. Tried to do it in app, told to log onto internet banking. Logged into internet banking, told to go to branch. Went to branch, they couldn't close them either! Thankfully they managed to close them later on in the day so didn't have to go back. Very annoying - if you can open online you should be able to close online.8
