Who mentioned pillows, SL?

A slow day with a cuddly DD2 who is a little under the weather. She has just thrown up in bed, as is the style when she gets a cough
The first load of bedding is in the machine...
Other than that, I
my new bread maker (so simple DD2 did most of the prep bar adding the water and yeast). Will need to amortise the cost below £150/loaf tho
Did 2 hours of overtime after Mrs E finished (5 so far this week), looking forward to finishing up with overtime for prolonged break/trial separation in about a month. £31 withdrawn from Prolific. £2 paid into my S&S ISA and a few quid into my personal cash savings. £2,000 short-term target passed already, next goal is about £2,800 (4 weeks of no overtime earnings).
*Edit: £6.76 OPed8 -

I was up until just after midnight washing bedding and then woke again at 4 with a bit of a sore stomach. The latter doesn't seem to have come to much, and we have enjoyed a slow start to the day.
Breakfast was a bacon sarnie with the leftovers of yesterday's small loaf for the adults, and chipolatas with bread for the children. I've made a second loaf using the rapid setting and it certainly looks the part. Will check later to see if the consistency suffers for being made in less than 2 hours. Mrs E is also going to make a cake with the bread maker later, a sort of sponge loaf which we will enjoy with some lovely homemade jam that I picked up in Barra this summer. Should be down to a mere £50/use by the end of the day
£8.54 OPed, a few quid thrown at Emergency Fund, a couple of quid added to my personal cash savings. I also ordered Mrs E a lovely makeup bag that featured in the Guardian's Christmas gift guide. Luckily there was a 22% off code on the retailer's website and cashback to follow. Planning a little housework and the England rugby game later.
I have added some wildly exciting items to my big river wish list for relatives who always ask - a new bread knife, paring knives, and a butter dish
Have a good weekend all.7 -
@edinburgher - I applaud you on the makeup bag - Mrs E is lucky to have such a thoughtful hubby who has a bit of a clue about what's on trend!
For a laugh - My 'newly-minted' hubby asked me today if there was a piece of jewelry that I would like to mark the occasion of our nuptials (Tuesday past) - he proceeded to open his wallet and hand me a credit card - I reminded him we exchanged rings and he has his on! 🤣😉4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! With my breadmaker I have found the quick version is fine but the slow version is definitely better & worth the wait, but sometimes needs must.6

The quick loaf is a bit too loose, found a wee pocket through the middle. Still nice, just a little too "soft" (not quite the right word).
We are thinking extensions again. Want to save £50k in 3 years. Any better way to do it than find the best savings rates and avoid losing any money to tax? 🤔
I'm guessing ladder(s) of regular savers + best cash ISAs for completed RS?
Seems achievable. Currently saving £500/mth. Would need £1k/mth, interest + 3x my 13th wage. £500/mth = no Mounjaro, AVCs down to 1% + find another £215?5 -
I would agree with your savings method as you certainly don't want to be paying tax. If you calculate carefully it may be worth keeping some in a fixed savings account but only if the rates are higher than the ISAs which doesn't seem to happen so much now. But that also means more brain space to keep an eye on rates/amounts.6

DD2 has a chest infection. Nasty fever is just a slightly raised temperature, coughing fits continue. Antibiotics doing their thing but no energy. I'm off to look after her 🤗
£25 cashback paid out for opening a Cahoot savings account, have paid this into my personal spends.7 -
Poor little one - hope she feels better soon! Hope you get some rest today too!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
