Cat food is indeed v expensive. The once feral eats a very select diet as anything else upsets her stomach which the vet suggested was because she wasn't weaned properly and then attempted to feed herself on anything. At £1 a tub I frequently remonstrate with her that there is at least 10 pence worth left and she must eat it all! (I stock up when there is a good discount).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!9 -

Yes indeed. I bought a four-pack of dry and two boxes of the stuff in jelly on offer from big river, outside the subscription cycle as I heard it might go up. They have also changed the recipes of some to make them cheaper to produce. Stealth cat always lets me know as she sicks it up. Not helped by DS feeding her dry dog food for a week before he realised. I am cross. "Surprise" inflation increase and changes to mortgage rates mean that our decision to delay remortgaging for 1 month so as to avoid an £1,100 ERC when we stitch together our 2 mortgage parts will likely cost us £2,000 over 2 years. Some saving
In more positive news, Mrs E has been paid, a LISA bonus of £50 or so turned up and the LISA balance is now over £1,000.
Took both girls to Kelvingrove art gallery today. A lovely time in the sunshine, only slightly marred by DD2 throwing up 5 minutes from the destination!

Eek to the mortgage pain and kids throwing up.

It was a very nice day all things considered @savingholmes
Yesterday was another fun day out, although it was also a little spendy. We had breakfast at Beefeater (a bargain for a family of 4 when only 2 of you have to pay), then drove through to Edinburgh for a gentle footle about. We did a little bid of window shopping, DD1 picked a book with the book token she got for her birthday, then DD1 needed a sunhat and we also bought a few wee treats from Lush. I have been doing a bit more exercise than usual over the last week, very much looking forward to a soak in a bath with a Japanese inspired bathbombAfter that we had lunch in Princes street gardens, wandered back up to the old town and tried our best to keep out of the way of the brightly coloured fans who had taken over the city for the Harry Styles concert! DD2 had 2 naps, although I did have to sprint back to the car pushing her buggy and drinking a flat white to get her into her car seat before she feel asleep for the second one (she doesn't transfer well)
Largs today
I have been making small payments into my SIPP from my personal spends account and topped up our EF by £30 or so, not much finance news apart from that.
