Alas! The part cannot be replaced, I feel cross and disappointed at the waste
At least the large metal frame can be recycled, the large tarp cover, not so much. I'll fold it up and use it to try and keep things less soggy in my leaky garage...
£9.56 paid into my LISA (Chase cashback, £5 from a budget line where I'd budgeted too much and £3 odds from my personal spends account). We are focused on cash at the moment but I'd still like to get the LISA up to £1,000 after my 13th wage arrives.I am feeling heightened emotions and anxiety today, mostly in relation to work. Here's hoping it works out better than expected.8 -
I’m glad to hear about the childminder. Childcare is a total nightmare and places are hard to come by. We’ve been on the list for the place local to us for 2 years now!2025 decluttering: 3,452🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Could you get a part fabricated to replace the broken one on the gazebo? or modify something else (we use plumbers' pipe for all sorts here)?Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

@QueenJess - Thank you
While Mrs E has been a total childcare ninja in this instance / childcare private eye, I appreciate the fact that luck has played a part too. Wishing you several other children moving away from the area and freeing up a local space for you soon
@Suffolk_lass I don't think we're likely to be able to have a part fabricated in a cost effective manner. It's a fairly specific diameter oval spray coated steel support. For context, a replacement gazebo would be £130, so not willing to spend a fortune. I suspect time vs Mrs E frustration about wanting to be out in the garden during the summer will be the deciding factor.I spoke with our mortgage broker this morning and am feeling a little sick. While I had known that a hefty mortgage increase had been coming at us for some time, I hadn't fully accepted it, IYSWIM? Our current payment is a little over £800 (had been a 30-year mortgage with a tiny overpayment). This is going up to c. £1,200 (25 years). So, while I've knocked another 2-3 years off because of "state of the world" fear, it's a literal 50% increaseThat completely swallows up Mrs E dropping her pension contribution from 20% to 6%, with another £150/mth to find and now we have £600/mth to find to fill our RS. Well, I likes a challenge7 -
Ouch to the mortgage increase. I’m in denial about what mine will be next year as well. I’ll be overpaying as much as I can before then to try to make it a bit less painful.
We do have a place after 2 years of waiting that starts in September. Just need to actually visit and make a final decision on whether to move DD. We would be able to walk and it’s cheaper too! The waiting list is such that you have to book the second you find out you are pregnant 🤦♀️2025 decluttering: 3,452🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Gosh, I can hardly believe it has been eight years. Congratulations 🎂!
Oh my, that mortgage increase is horrific. If you leave the term at 30 years, will it not take a couple of hundred off the increase? - you can still overpay to bring it in within 25 years, as many will attest on here, but especially with pre-school childcare fees you could cut yourselves some slack for the next 3-4 years and then use what were childcare pot monies to OP the mortgage after having a nice period of a treat or two and reflection. When our DS stopped going to the fee-paying pre-school and primary and entered state secondary sector, it was a weight lifted and the time I started to routinely OP by hundreds a month with that moneySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
