DD1 is refusing to go to a wee holiday club that she's been going to for 3 years. We are scunnered - she has loved it up until now. Insists no bust-ups, concerns or worries, just says it's really boring
She is spending the day with Mrs E, who has committed to making it as boring as possible so that holiday club does well by comparison. It is a real worry tho, our only "village" apart from this club is her grandparents and DD1 also isn't a fan of spending time with them (in fairness to her, they are pretty boring)
£5 paid into my LISA - £3.43 cashback from Ch@se and TCB, the rest from virement. Our funds are looking a bit depleted, expensive month. Next month will need to be a bit calmer, glad I get my 13th wage.6 -
I used to drag DS round my chores with me -
- count the socks, divide by two,
- have you got that number of pairs of pants? if not -
- go find the missing items
- get these ingredients out
- weigh them into separate bowls (stop eating the sugar!)
- empty the bins into the black sack or the pink bag (recycling)
- take the rubbish out to the bins
- and so on (no, you can't have a biscuit, crisps, chocolate - wait until you have had your lunch)

Have a lovely holiday - we come to sunny Scotland on Monday, five days in Ayrshire then off to Mull for a week. I think you are going to Arran? Sounds lovely. We are looking at where to go next year too (Easter Sunday is 31st march in 2024). I'm hoping for Skye, where smaller houses are plentiful as the supply of large holiday houses diminishes with the increasing popularity of the NC 500 and conversions to boutique Hotels or BNBs - we think the group might be in several cottages going forwardSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Yup - we are staying in Whiting Bay
I had noticed re. Easter. Via an odd quirk of timing, my birthday is 31st March and has fallen on Easter a few times since I was born. Unfortunately next year is likely to be the last time this happens (unless I live to be 90+). So on the one hand, it's an interesting date, on the other hand I'm not sure I welcome it!

2086! 😲😲 Whiting Bay looks like an upmarket version of Ayr with all the palm trees (also benefitting from the mildness offered by its' near neighbour and the warm winds from the gulf stream). Very picturesque! We were supposed to be in a big house on Mull but we now have a small cottage in Tobermory after we were told that bringing our dog (again) was unacceptable. It will still be beautiful with lots of wildlife to see.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks folks, we had a lovely time in what is rapidly becoming one of our favourite places to visit in Scotland. Managed numerous trips to the beach, a couple of lovely meals out, a visit to Brodick with crazy golf, as well as a lot of family time and cozy evenings with log fires and maybe a little too much wineBack on the straight and narrow now - started my exercise class yesterday, am cooking 4 budget slow cooker meals this week and am taking a wee break from the booze until my weight starts to go down a little. I'm also trying to work up the energy to do some overtime but it is heavy going at present. I never heard back from that job I interviewed for (a fortnight yesterday) and regardless of public sector recruitment sluggishness, it feels a little rude.Finances are low but not precarious and I'm doing my best to make £5 payments to the LISA, updating my signature as I go.Take care all10
