Have they ever fixed being able to save reference when send payments ? So for instance, wanted to pay rent every month via faster payments, but each time I had to enter all reference etc, it was a pain so gave up using them.
The Faster Payments screen defaults to no reference, but when you click add, previous references are listed.

This is more useful than defaulting to the last reference if different references are commonly used to the same payee account.

That is quite a useful feature, something I've not seen with any other bank.

but as stated in my original response to you regarding the “poor value”, there are many reasons for one not to want or be able to stooze and 1% cashback return immediately is as good as it get… even for those who stooze, they may have already maximise the balance available, so can continue to spend at 1% cashback, again as the outside of my particular Case Study where I easily get new cards with limits in the 5 digits, many MSEs will only get fairly small credit limits
It is poor, you just keep listing reasons why someone might have to fall back on such a poor rate. For example if someone maximized their credit limit on one 0% card, but is unable to obtain another card.

If it was the only option for everything it would be poor but it may bet the best option in certain scenario additionally to having exhausted other options (your original comment was in response to a user who has talked over time of exploiting many financial product as well as the 1%.

my own real life example is that as a higher rate taxpayer, already maxed in my tax free saving interest allowance, rewards (like I explained before) but also 1% cashback on foreign currency spend is as good as it gets and was good it was further extended for us early adopter.

Update the Chase app in the app store and it will magically show as 2.1%

  • We have been very happy with Chase until this morning when I tried to make a transfer to a high interest savings account with another UK Bank. As expected, the transfer was blocked.

When I finally got through to Chase, the CS staff member was almost totally incomprehensible. ‘Please say that again ‘ was my standard reply. I eventually worked out that he wanted me to authenticate my identity via a notification in the App. This was followed by 3 security questions that could be answered easily by anybody with access to the App. Not the greatest security checks: there must be a better way of doing it.
  • quick data Point on the BIN number/ Westpac Bank post earlier in this thread:

I have had sight of the latest MasterCard BIN list and 4167678 BIN number belong to JP Morgan GBR and are listed as a Debit World Elite card

Many banks (and Amex) now verify your identity by sending you a message/app functionality, so obviously, if someone else have access to the app, would be able to pass security, but the thing is that it should be extremely hard to access someone app in the first place.

Has anyone noticed that since the recent iOS update, that the ‘spend from’ button has dropped off each account? Mine updated on 14 Nov and now I can’t switch between different accounts. I’ve raised a query with Chase. But was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue?? Thanks
