In reality, this is the same as parking on a forecourt petrol pump just because it is out of action. You will effectively prevent any service technician getting close to fix it.

No doubt, next year, PPCs will be arguing that EV parking bays should be listed alongside other restricted parking bays (disabled, parent and child etc) to carry the maximum charge. In 2022 you could be looking at £200, not £100!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I do not see how anyone could park in one of thes bays, "by mistake".
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • HI so my father did park by mistake in one of these bays at 83 he went to his regular gym where he has been going for many years, didnt find a bay where he is normally and parked in one of the 2 EV bays. I understand the rules, asking if there is any defence for this or do i just pay for him. Secondly is there a payment plan offered by the solicitor when they send a LBA ?

No paying, no payment plan.  Signs cannot have been clear enough if you can park in an EV bay in error.
