Well, let's hope the fuses I ordered on Sunday for the tree lights I was given are the right ones as I took the £20 box back to Tesco. I couldn't have a refund as I didn't have the receipt (which I knew) but was told I could go and get £20 worth of stuff.
That was harder than it sounds!! I didn't need anything so I went on an aimless wander and to my shame didn't really spend it that wisely:o .....I bought a Mississippi Mud Pie:o, a HUGE tin of Roses reduced from £18 to £9,
a pint of milk (actually I did need that!:rotfl: ) and a plug in mosquito repellant thing.
The mozzy plug in thing might sound a bit random, but I'm off on holiday to Spain in March and I've been bitten each year for the last 2 years - even in March!! Every time I think about a plug in thing, but it seems a luxury (until I'm itching through bites!!!!)
How bizarre that £20 was so hard to spend. I was torn between being a good MSE girl and getting some basics, wondering whether to get a couple of birthday presents for next year and stash them away (I looked but nothing really caught my eye), not really wanting to be there and just getting 'anything' and splurging it...........I guess splurging kind of won.....
At least i'll get more use out of what i've bought than the set of lights which would have just sat in the drawer not needed. And the pie should taste yum!! :T"Stay Wonky":D

I did cast a sideways glance at the Baileys at the end of one aisle but I kept on going......
I will say I was very good in one tiny way - I checked out if buying a 2.75kg tin at £9 gave me more chocolates than the two smaller tins for £9 by looking at the pence per 100g on the price tickets - I was determined to get as much for my money!!"Stay Wonky":D

ooo Baileys - I used to just chuck a bottle of that in with the shopping but now it's a mad calculation to see if I can justify a bottle of Carolanns occasionally!
I managed not to buy another PS2 game for my son (had a voucher for extra 200 points if I did) so felt quite virtuous.Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Have to say skint_spice, the reason I was able to walk past the Baileys is because I bought a bottle of Carolans last Thursday (my first and only bottle of the year!) - the same day I bought the lights!!
I'll look up Bens Greenwich girl, it seems mad that there are bitey things in Spain in March but each year we get bitten. We had a self catering apartment literally on the beach 3 years ago which wasn't air conditioned and we went in July.......the phrase 'covered' doesn't go near how bitten my legs and hips were.......when I got back I showed a colleague (I worked in a hospital) and she was a bit concerned they were sand fly bites (yuck) but it seems they were just particularly aggressive little mozzy's."Stay Wonky":D
