    I so agree about the plasticky ones Keren. (though I quite liked the knitted ones when the children were little :o )

  • lukewarm water does the trick :) just don't have hot or it'll smash your windscreen!

    never use water to defrezze your windowscreen ~ where does the water go? on the road? What happens? the water frezzes!! you then unintenionally cause an accident waiting to happen when a car/bike rides on the said patch of water as its then black ice....

    get a can of de icer it may not be mse but it could save a life :D

    The item number at Tesco Direct is 202-2071 but it says its a discontinued item (blimey it was only in the most recent catalogue!!) so you might be able to resist after all ;)

    I have a lovely ice scrapper with a nice big warm mitt covering the handle... MSE and environmentally friendly!
    Current debt - £16,300 :(

    Sorry if i spoke out of turn but the thoughts of more rta's scare me, there are too many as there is.

    I've got de-icer in a spray thing rather than an aerosol - looks like blue Mr Muscle spray but is more environmentally friendly, and gets my fingers working in the cold by squeezing the trigger!
