He already essentially admitted it was an error by saying he thought the card details were deleted.maxmycardagain said:Finally, after 5 days and 20 phone calls, the hotel rang, I think using covert message sending via another hotel rattled the guy
they are repaying to the same card the money, they admitted they shouldnt have taken it in the first place
manager blamed his boss, his system, being busy and staff shortages...........
he didnt offer any compo tho
They made a mistake, this isn't some grand conspiracy.0 -
I feel sorry for the lady somewhat abandoned by her "friends" when facing a financial problem on behalf of all of them. Irrespective of the consumer rights matter, would have it have been too much to ask that one of the party might have thought of clubbing together to ensure she wasn't bearing too much in the way of overdraft and DD costs?12

I really can't believe that was not the immediate reaction. Since after all it is the first lady who paid the £250 that has protection through her credit card..Aylesbury_Duck said:I feel sorry for the lady somewhat abandoned by her "friends" when facing a financial problem on behalf of all of them. The 'friends' were more worried about losing their money than helping out a friend who had incurred a debt on ttheir behalf.
I bet she won't do it again.0 -
Nope. Every (wo)man for (her) himself is the running theme of most of these OP's.Aylesbury_Duck said:I feel sorry for the lady somewhat abandoned by her "friends" when facing a financial problem on behalf of all of them. To hell with anyone else.0 -
Perhaps the OP could tell us if the lady did incur bank charges and if she did, whether the rest of the group are going to split any costs incurred.
.
I would be mortified if one of our group suffered a financial loss as a result of doing us a favour and would be suggesting we all shared this loss.2 -
Well I hope as a group when you all go away that you treat the POOR person who was out of pocket while you pontificated on a forum over what to do. To FREE meals & drinks for the whole stay.maxmycardagain said:Finally, after 5 days and 20 phone calls, the hotel rang, I think using covert message sending via another hotel rattled the guy

As you failed to take the advice of the majority of posters of giving her the money to stop any charges etc due to the error.
Sadly I wonder if she will bother now given the way she has been treated by so called friends.Life in the slow lane1
