Given you could chargeback if they went bust what do they stand to gain from this?0 -
so what does lady 2 tell lady's 3 - 15 when their money has been handed to lady 1 and the company has gone tits up?ItsComingRome said:
Well, you can be intransigent and keep insisting on this whilst you watch the lady continue to rack up charges while you argue the toss with the hotel. Or you can sort out the immediate problem, stop the charges and then argue it out with them.maxmycardagain said:
It was agreed the balance would be paid in cashborn_again said:Easily solved by the person with all the funds. Giving them the money and the overdraft is cleared 👍
Hotels will always keep card details. In case as per other thread going on about soiled bed. They can reclaim costs with not issues.
It's all in their T/C.
Given you'd have a duty to mitigate your losses you might find your unwillingness to find a short--term solution to her bank problem will leave you (or her) out of pocket.

She says, "don't worry ladies, because we paid by card instead of handing over a load of cash as per my original ridiculous idea, we can just do a chargeback."6

if bank agrees how long will she be destitute?Deleted_User said:She says, "don't worry ladies, because we paid by card instead of handing over a load of cash as per my original ridiculous idea, we can just do a chargeback."
this meeting up is for the 10th-12th so the pot is only going to a new hotel or the 13 hens

It seems the right thing to do here is give the cash to the lady that may have inadvertently paid by card. If she gets a refund, to her card, happy days and she can draw the cash out to pay the hotel. If she does not get a refund, then the hotel bill is paid (or chargeback). In the meantime, she is not suffering charges and credit report impacts.0

You are the one leaving her destitute. Whoever is holding the funds needs to give it to her now.....🤦♀️maxmycardagain said:

Chargeback can not be done till after the date the stay starts. That is if you do not get the stay. If you get the stay then there is no chargeback..Life in the slow lane1 -
Give the lady with the overdraft the money so she can clear her account.
If the hotel refund the money she can repay everybody.
if they don't refund them the stay is paid for.
If the hotel go bus t then you are all on the same position of loss, rather than lady 1 having the loss of the whole amount. leaving her with the total loss seems very unfair.
if the hotel goes bust then Lady 1 can make a claim for a chargeback from her card and refund any money to everybody. when it is paid out.

Finally, after 5 days and 20 phone calls, the hotel rang, I think using covert message sending via another hotel rattled the guy
