I live in a one bed flat on my own
Everything is electricity including my shower, the only thing that gas is the heating
The most I paid in winter is£104.39
Now my bill that came in last week is£655.28
I'm on a direct debit of £68 a month. I know someone who has a direct debit of £78
Now I send them meters readings quarterly and when I speak to them they say it based on my meters readings, but how can it be that high considering its summer. I been with them for two years and never had a bill this high

Double check the bills - has Eon been collecting the DD for both utilities or neither; are the meter readings on the bills the one you gave. Have you read the meter correctly ?
You can't post copies of the bills as a new user but could you list the readings please (include the letters A,C and E)
Check that the serial number of the meter itself is the one on your billNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Yes the direct debit is £68 for both. I give the readings myself I be given for the past two years so they should be correctElectricity 12769 CGas 02083 C0

Assume those figures are recent ones - have you some from 12 months ago so we can work out an annual consumption.
DD of £68 for dual fuel does sound low so I wonder if Eon are playing catch upNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
No as I can only see this year's bill so far. Is £68 low for a one bed flat? . My parents live in a three bed house and they only pay £78 a month for both0

My parents live in a three bed house and they only pay £78 a month for both£68 isn't that far off the mark. Here's another thread from earlier today where someone was paying less:Can you post some more numbers, maybe a year's worth of quarterly meter readings?N. Hampshire, he/him. Why are your August 2021 Elec and Gas lower than May 2021 ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

Don't know
They said my bill was £655.38 which I thought It was high0 -
You said they were your readings
On your last bill do they give Elec May as 13294 and Aug as 12769. How many units do they calculate this as and what cost ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Looking at those numbers:
- May to Aug 2020 - 277 kWh electric, 6 cu.m. gas
- Aug to Nov 2020 - 525 kWh electric, 42 cu.m. gas
- Nov to Feb 2021 - 1010 kWh electric, 217 cu.m. gas
- Feb to May 2021 - 1396 kWh electric, 113 cu.m. gas
- May to Aug 2021 - -525 kWh electric, -11 cu.m. gas
There's definitely something weird with your most recent readings, your meters shouldn't go backwards!do you read them yourself or do you have to ask eg. your caretaker or landlord to read them for you? Can you get a reading today?N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
